Went in easily, works great so far. Only “difficult” part was keeping the wipers aligned while tightening down the bolts at the very end, which isn’t the fault of this product at all. Look up a youtube video for replacing the wiper transmission itself if you need help.
Some tips I used masking tape to mark the location of the wipers at each end and the bases of the wiper arms on top and bottom so I’d have a visual guide for re-alignment, and had to apply some pressure with one hand (enough to engage the spring and make the wiper lay flat in its correct alignment) while hand-tightening the bolts for the wipers themselves, and then ratcheting them the rest of the way down, or they’d slip out of alignment.
You’ll have to remove several trim pins to get some plastic shields off during installation; these have two pieces, make sure to pry the inner one up first (use a flathead, a small prybar, or a trim tool), or the lower part of the pin will be very hard to remove and you will probably break it; a lot of people break these, or believe they’re supposed to be single-use and have to be broken to be removed. If the pins won’t come out, you haven’t pulled the inner part up far enough.
Also, a common cause of the wiper motor/linkage failing on these cars is an easily-clogged drain hole in the plastic shield (the one you have to remove to service this part). The little “well” under the passenger-side wiper base/nut (in the middle of the windshield) has a drain hole in the bottom that gets clogged with dirt, causing the water to stand in the well and seep into places it shouldn’t, especially if it freezes. Make sure to clean that drain hole out (easy to access and assess while you’ve got it off), maybe gently widen it with something and smooth the edges so debris doesn’t get caught in the hole. You can also try to keep it clean after re-assembly by just poking around in the bottom of that well with a stick or screwdriver periodically, especially if you notice standing water.

I used this ACDelco 84241847 GM Original Equipment Windshield Wiper System Module to repair the wiper “transmission” on my 2012 Chevy Equinox. Dealer wanted $375 for the repair. This part is an exact fit and original GM part at a really good price. It comes with the motor that greatly simplifies installation. This was the same price as other parts where the motor was not included and it saves you from messing around with the poorly designed press-in motor drive connector that is prone to failure like the rest of the connections. Watch a YouTube video and you will be all set. The hardest part was getting the wipers to line up correctly, but just run them carefully to test the position before fully tightening the wiper blades in place.

UPDATE: GM issued a recall for the original wiper motor assembly for the same reason everyone’s failed in March 2022. If you print your invoice from amazon, take it to your GM dealer, they will reimburse you for the repair work.
Very easy to install in our 2014 GMC Terrain Denali. Basically just pulling off the plastic covers, a couple plastic pins, and 5 bolts. Just watched one of the many videos on how to do this repair, super easy to follow without ever doing a repair like this before.
Definitely seems like it is constructed better than the GM part that came with the vehicle so that is promising. Overall very satisfied, it works, and I couldn’t ask for more.

My son’s 2012 Equinox had the “All Too Common” sudden wiper assembly failure occur in heavy rain recently. I had replaced a coworkers assembly on his 09′ earlier this year so I knew exactly what the problem was. If you have an Equinox and the wipers flop all the way to one side or one side stops operating and you hear the motor running but can move the wipers back and forth with your hand, most likely one of the plastic connectors on the wiper transmission has fallen apart.
I wanted to get the car fixed the next day but the only parts I could find locally available were Dorman aftermarket units for 125$. I found this Delco unit for half the cost and it also included the motor so I did not have to switch it out. I ended up having to wait 3 days but the savings and convenience were worth it.
When I did my coworkers repair with the after market unit, we had to switch the motor over. In doing so the arms ended up out of position and it created a huge hassle having to keep reassembling the motor and arm assembly to get it oriented properly so the wiper arms moved correctly. This time around I made sure the wiper was in Off/Rest, manually positioned the wipers where they would lay and when I pulled the unit out I made sure it matched the orientation of the new unit, which it did. Since I did not have to switch out the motor, there was no chance to screw up the assembly linkage. As long as you are careful in reinstalling the wiper arms in the proper position, you should be good to go first try.
I am fairly mechanical but but I think even a novice mechanic could do this repair. Watch a video or two on this repair and you’ll be fine. You pop a few clips, undo the 2-15mm Wiper arm nuts, pop the cover, undo 3-10mm bolts, remove and replace the assembly and put it all back together. I had my sons help me so they could get their hands dirty and we were done in well under an hour and we saved a couple hundred dollars. It’s a good deal.

I may update in the future if anything happens, but it was a perfect fit. Installed on 2012 Terrain in about 40 mins. You’ll need a 10mm, 15mm, and a flathead. These commonly break on these vehicles and I expected the same for my mother’s Terrain. Turned out her assembly was just fine, but the motor went bad. I’m glad this came with both. Be careful during the install, the plastic housing for the plug is very easy to crack in cold weather.

The wiper linkage on my 2012 Chevy Equinox broke leaving me with no working windshield wipers. This product was a perfect replacement. It fit like the original and works as designed. Highly recommend !
