Once you are able to fully access the broken part, installation is a breeze. Some what of a pain in the rear to gain full access. That was the time consuming part of this replacement. There is no instructions. For me I removed both the seats. As mentioned, you could most likely get by with just removing the passenger side seat. I decided to remove both, as I wanted the extra space to remove the plastic trim. I did not remove the drivers side seat from the truck, just moved it forward. It took about an extra 1/2 hour to remove and replace the drivers side, passenger seat. I also removed the 3 child seat harness straps as they were pressing against the trim. I removed all the trim with a 10 inch wonder bar and a 10 inch plastic shim. The biggest pain in the rear was getting the casing of the cable behind the seatbelt loop.
I managed to just use all my weight and strength to pull on the seatbelt loop and finally slide the casing behind it.
The replacement part itself worked like a charm, and honestly, once I had access to the broken part, it only took about 15 minutes and was very simple and self explanatory.

Great Product! Much cheaper than going through dealer and it works!. There are no instructions and I could not find a video with tips. Some reviewers mentioned an issue with it being too short, but it fits easily with a few tips. Place the ends of the cables into the sides of the window before attaching the “elbow” pieces on each side. Leave the yellow plastic piece in place during this part because it compresses the springs which gives you more cable to work with. I did not do this initially and had to compress springs to get the cables to fit. Having never done this before or seen a video of how its done, it still only took about an hour with taking seat out and putting back in. Another tip, you only need to remove the rear passenger seat, not the whole back row.

Pain in the ass to install but that’s General Motors fault. Went in easy after the complete dismantling of the back seat and everything else in the way. Fit perfectly and has solved the problem. Back window opens and shuts like it did before it broke.

As others have commented, this is a difficult install. I had to remove both rear seats, the lower window trim behind the seats, the carseat loops, use a crowbar to bend back the middle seatbelt top bracket to get the cable past it, and take the window stop off the right side of the sliding window in order to install the cable. Worked like a charm once installed. Also, do not remove the yellow bracket on the regulator over the screw hole, this keeps the cable springs tensioned until the unit is fully installed. Tools: 10mm, 18mm sockets, Torx T50 bit for the carseat loop brackets. flathead screwdriver to remove old retaining clips (two come with the GM kit) and some trim removal tools.

This was the correct part to fix the rear window in my 2011 Silverado and these tips pertain to this vehicle. It was easy to install, it took me right at an hour on my first attempt. With these tips you should be able to get it done in 45 minutes.
1. Do not remove the yellow clip until the very end – that will be the last thing you do
2. Only remove the passenger side rear seat (4 18mm nuts and 2 10mm bolts attaching it to the diver side seat).
3. In order to get the cable to slip behind the middle seat belt loop you’ll need to the pull the cable out of the driver side pulley assembly so that you can slip the bare cable behind the seat belt loop (even the bare cable is a tight fit).
4.I installed the driver side cable first (to remove the old driver side pulley assembly, pull the bottom of it out towards you, away from the back of the truck, don’t try to pull it out to the right). Some people said the cable was tight. After getting the driver side all connected I then installed the cable end onto the passenger side of the window and THEN inserted the passenger side pulley into the track. I experience no problems with it being too tight, it would have been hard if you installed the pulley first.
Other than that, it’s just removing some screws and popping off plastic pieces. You can find full instructions by googling it, however these tips where things I didn’t find elsewhere that will save you time.

The part is a genuine AC Delco part, as advertised. It was easy to install (Once the back seats were removed) and fit perfectly. The most time consuming job was removal of the back seats. When finished, the regulator assembly worked just as good as the factory part. Would definitely recommend this as a DIY project. You don’t have to be a mechanic to replace this part. A couple of pointers: 1) take a picture of the old assembly before you remove it so you can install the new cable in the correct position, and 2) be sure to clean the track that the window runs in for smoother operation. NOTE: The motor is continuous running so position of the drive on the regulator is not an issue.
