Worked good on my truck, use some silicone spray on the new part to help pop it in as it is a little tough. My truck would not come out of park easily and I had to reach under the dash and tap the old solenoid to get it to engage. 10/10

This part is correct fit and its easy to install the other i changed because with the E- Brake on i shifted my gears and the part came loose and i tossed it before i knew where it came from.

I own a 2010 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3L and an auto transmission. My vehicle started having difficultly shifting out of park and at first, I thought it was cold weather related. I started getting all kinds of stabilitrak warning and ABS lights on my dash. After doing some searching around the web, I pulled my trim off below my steering column to have a look at all the linkage. This interlock piece is an electrically controlled lock mechanism with a shaft that disengages when you press the brake in park. The shaft unlocks, allowing you to shift out of fear and into reverse, neutral, drive, etc. Basically, it’s a safety feature from what I can tell. I tested my issue and the part by pulling it off completely. As soon as I disconnected the linkage, my shifting out of fear issue went away. That’s when I decided to order this part. I snapped the new one in place and the problem was fixed. Stabilitrak “service” warnings went away and ABS light stopped showing up. The new part is clearly unlocking as I can feel it disengaging when I hold it while touching the brake in park. Test your part that way at first. No unlock feeling probably means a defective unit. That’s my story and I hope it helps the next person with a Chevy.

Not hard to replace and works well.

The transmission shift interlock solenoid won’t install. One of the two mounting holes is too small. This part’s number is one of a great number of parts numbers available. How does one find the correct part?
