SMG Contractor –
I received the coil for my tired Dodge Dakota. This coil was extremely easy to install with just 2 screws, 1 cable and a clip for the power supply. I did replace the screws with new 10 m screws since the factory ones were somewhat rusty and the Phillips head were rounded from trying to remove. Once installed, the engine cranked over about 2 revolutions and started. It had a smooth idle and seems to have better performance. Thanks for the quality product.

Coil output is noticeably better than factory one. If it continues working well and is reliable, I may give it another star, but time will tell. Reason for not rating higher is because of the absolute junk adapter that is “required” to connect the coil to input wiring that does not match the socket and pins of the coil. I sent one coil back thinking it was faulty. It worked maybe 2 minutes and the engine shut down. After installing the second one, it would not even start. It turned out that the connector was not making contact with the coil pins. I rigged up a way to force the connector in a little further, and it ran. I tried running it and the engine died once again after maybe 45 minutes of run time. Took the coil and adapter off, and made my own connection with 1/4 inch crimp connectors, and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Love the coil, hate the garbage adapter harness, and it’s about $23! Waste of money. Pictures show the coil installed and connected. Female connectors put over the pins in reverse, and male connectors crimped to the coil input wires, with a rubber cover with slots cut to push the male connectors through to help keep water and dirt out. Works great!

I installed this on a Grand Cherokee 5.2. Truck starts faster and idles smoother. Couldn’t be happier. You will need the wiring adapter though.

Works great but bolt pattern was slightly off

Debated buying this coil for quite some time to match up with my ACCELL Spark plugs, wires, cap, & rotor.. I finally pulled the trigger buying and installing the coil.
After installing it, started right up and idled very good and strong. Didn’t take it for a drive though as I was still working on the truck. Well, truck sat for about 4-5 days when I went to start it and had a dead, drained battery. Charged it up, started and finally took it for a spin. I got all of 100 yards away from my house when it stalled, died, and would not roll back over.
In this case it depends on the coils connection to the harness under the hood. Obviously it didn’t fit in tight enough which gives it a very loose, weak connection causing all sorts of issues. I reinstalled my previous coil which is only a year old. It’s phenomenal and fits nice and tight. It’s a DRIVEWORKS coil I got at Advanced Auto and it’s the answer AND cheaper.
This was my mistake on ordering this item. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
*Also, the ACCELL decal was on backwards/upside down – so when it was installed the logo was not visible – not a game changer but something that did annoy me!
Seller refunded money right away but if you’re thinking of this coil for a Dodge id stay away.

Works well. If you have an 03 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9 gas engine, only one bolt will mount it.. One bolt works to hold it in place but I was hoping it would fit directly. Other than that it works perfect

Perfect fit on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4.0L, I had originally ordered the pigtail conversion for the connector but ended up not needing it. Original Connector fit the new coil Perfectly, Included the new ACCEL plugs, wires, Distributor cap, & rotor it has more pep, quicker starts, and smoother idle! Nice quality parts, at a reasonable price!

This unit replaced the stock coil in my 1995 Jeep Cherokee with the 6 cylinder engine. Since installing, start ups have been faster, a slight increase in horsepower was felt, and my mileage went up a bit too. I’de recommend installing this performance coil if you are upgrading your ignition system, or even just installing new performance plugs, to get the most power and efficiency out of your engine. Just a great upgrade, hands down.
UPDATE: I have recently sold the Jeep (floor rusted out on the unibody: death!) and purchased a 1999 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9L Magnum engine in it. I bought another one of these coils and did a tune up right off the bat, and for this I did have to purchase the adapter to use this coil. It’s the same model number for the coil as in both vehicles, so it helped keep the guess work down when ordering.
