works very well, was able to remove light surface scratches on my car. follow it up with a good wax.

I’ve used all different brands of rubbing compound in the past.
From the green stuff which doesn’t really work at all, To the 3M and Mcguires.
This stuff works as well as any of them and costs about one third of the other good ones. It even helped on the stainless which was kind of dull.
This photo was taken with only a few minutes of hand buffing Only.

This stuff works. I was able to remove heavy oxidation and get a nice glossy finish on the paint. And this was old really hard paint with a lot of oxidation and surface issues. Other stuff I bought didn’t work but this worked. Hand rubbing isn’t the best way to work this. You need a slow speed soft buffing weel.

I have 2001 Nissan, and I tried the Abro compound, I followed the instructions and nothing happened. I called the Abro number that’s listed on their website and left a message. I asked how do you use the product and never received a phone call back. I thought that I was using the compound wrong, but no one ever called back to help. So, no I would not recommend this product to anyone. The oxidation on my car remains the same.

Nice grade of abrasive. Let it do the work because if you get agressive with it – like any compound it will mess up the surface you’re trying to clean up. Affordable and effective. Used corectly, this compound is easy to recommend.

I don’t know about “superior” but it seems to be good enough. It dries out a little too easily for my liking and I wish stuff like this didn’t smell like fuel oil, but this kind of product is essentially grit, wax, and some sort of solvent like fuel oil so I’m not sure much can be done about nasty smells.

I actually used this to polish scratches out of plastic composite so wasn’t using it for the usual auto paint application. That required more work than usual since the material was harder, and that’s why I had some trouble with it getting too dry, but it’s probably fine in more normal situations.

Tip: if this stuff does dry on something, just use more of the same from the jar to dissolve and soften it to wipe it off. Basically use the product itself as a solvent for removing dry patches of itself, because it contains the right solvent for itself anyway.

When I opened the compound the canister was only half full. I’m not sure if that was intended or if I received someone else’s returned product. I used it on a 1953 Chevy truck. It did take away some of the oxidation. It will take a multiple step process to take away all the swirl marks. I would use it again.
