Bought an 02 car and didn’t really use the trunk at first but when the winter weather hit and the trunk would fall on me, I knew it was definitely time for a change. Very good value and easy installation. Do need to muscle the trunk a bit to close but don’t need to worry about it falling on me now.

Works perfectly as a replacement for the defective set of struts on the trunk lid of my 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Propping up that lid in the proper manner is an absolute must since pulling out the existing struts of this old car was somewhat tricky without every time having the trunk trying to drop on your head. If you can get help with holding that trunk up is helpful of course. With a little patience everything worked out fine and what a difference these new struts make for such a reasonable price as compared to getting them from an automotive store or dealer. Well recommended, but only time will tell how long they hold up of course.

Easy to install and works just fine. A word to the wise, prop the trunk up or have someone hold it before removing the supports. As the trunk will drop. I didn’t think of this and it wasn’t shown in the videos I watched.

They fit but they are cheap as hell. Poor quality. I’m on my second set in 2 months. The 1st set broke within a week. Amazon sent me a replacement. This set failed the exact same way as the 1st set. These are not worth 2 pennies.
OK one –
Been needing these for a while. Did not notice how bad the old ones were until I installed these new ones. I like the fact that they have an added seal on the shaft to keep dirt out of the cylinder. My old ones did not have this extra seal. I feel that this should increase their life. They hold better and lift higher than the old ones. The wind could blow down the lid on my head, no such problem after these were installed. Very easy to install. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
