If you’ve got the “headlight system malfunction” warning and the scan indicates the rear sensor, then this is it. Volvo lists a right and left side sensor, I pulled the tires and there was only a sensor on the right side. Real easy to spot and change.
The Volvo part number is 31288274 which the folks here list, I also took a picture of the actual manufacturer part number so you can make sure yours matches up.
The nuts on the vehicle fit the new part. Be gentle taking them off as the new part doesn’t come with replacement nuts.
This part saved me $400 not having to purchase from Volvo. Wild.
