My hood strut failed on me after 120k miles. Bought this & threw it on. Not hard to replace, maybe 5-10 mins (use a pick & a flathead, makes it much easier). This just clipped on OE location, & works great! Opens & it springs up, maybe even a smidge higher than OEM.

As others have stated, this product is a perfect replacement for the OEM gas strut. It takes less than 2 minutes to replace the OEM. Only need a small flat screwdriver or pick.

I bought this to replace a failed support for the hood on my 2015 Audit A3 Quattro. This was literally a 5–10-minute change and only required a flathead screwdriver to help loosen the little clamp. No idea how long it will last, but it does seem sturdy.
