Installed on my 98 ranger. So far so good. Fuel gauge is not reading but could be a wiring issue.
Mr. Hand –
My gauge only shows to 1/2 tank…
I should have hooked up the gauge and then tested it before I finished installing it. Now I get to do it all over again (removing the bed, etc…)

I bought this fuel pump for my 1998 ford ranger. It fit just right , no problems. I got the bed back on the p.u. and took it for a test run, about 15 miles and it ran great. Parked in the driveway and let it set for a day.
The next day after I tried to start it and … nothing. I tried many more times and, nothing. I checked the pressure on the fuel rail and ,,, nothing. After lifting the bed again, not easy to do in the driveway, removing and testing the pump out of the vehicle. The pump motor is shorted . If I returned this it would be a 27 mile trip and back to the UPS store, nobody buying that gas but me and that’s not counting the delay in having this repair done. Not happy.
