Never changed my cabin filter before, this is the first recommended change for my car. Is the air cleaner? I guess! Does my car smell any different? Not really! Was the old one dirty? It had a couple leaves in it and some dust and a dead ant. But I did it. They forced me to do it. I had resisted, but the nagging nagging nagging!!!! It is done and the next twenty thousand miles I’ll do it again. I don’t know why, but I’ll do it again. Just stop with the nagging!

These were a drop in replacement for an OEM cabin air filter in two 2020 Nissan Altimas I own. They seem to do the job just fine. Replacing the cabin air filter is a pain but that’s a car manufacturer problem unrelated to the filter. They don’t want us doing our own maintenance. But for $10 vs $60, I’ll take the 10 minutes to do it myself.
And before you say it’s not essential, they do cut down on dust in a car. And a clogged filter will put strain on your HVAC system fan. That’s a major repair bill. I’d rather just replace a $10 filter.
