I bought this Resin, to use for a mask i am building. I needed something to harden the paper template so that i could make a mold. I realize that this can says to be used with Cars, but its surprisingly useful in the cosplay world, when building positive casts and making pieces you intend to mold later.
I learned something while using this Resin.
1) It is super super sticky. When i say sticky i really mean it. Once you mix in the hardener, prepare for a syrup like consistency. While using this, it really does coat well, but any little drips on your gloves and prepare to stick to everything. It got worse when using the fiberglass mat with the resin. The fibers were sticking to my gloves and everything the Resin looked at.
Good Resin, worth buying just be warned you will stick to things.
Also, when throwing out a trash bag with all the resin things you don’t want to stink up your place, do not wear your respirator outdoors or your neighbors will think you are doing something illegal in the basement.

Can’t give an accurate product review because hardener was missing from my order. Unfortunately returning item has not been easy at all.

The ratios seem simple enough. But it’s pretty easy to put too little activator in. You can tell because it doesn’t get warm while using it and the open time is really long. It does eventually harden up but instead of 8-10, it’s more like 15-20. But if you put too much hardener, it’s 3-4.
And this is with measuring and paying attention.
But when you get it right, it’s fairly easy to spread and get your mat down. And is rock hard in 24 hours and can be sanded, shaped as needed

That’s good old Bondo resin and hardener. I’ve used it, that stock is in good old order judging by the results on a hight strenght part (ex: this is NOT old stock being liquidated. It works perfect).
At Canadian Tire, among the cheapest brick and mortar store selling that item, their price is 41.99 CAD.
It can be kept for a long time despite claims to the contrary by some people. Provided you keep it at around 25 celcius and keep the peroxyde hardener in the dark.
I recently finished using a bottle or resin from 2010….It still worked. The peroxyde hardener does not last as long because it is peroxyde. Still, peroxyde from two years ago and open still work (but you need maybe 10% more)

Using this and some fiberglass batting to basically repair and re-enforce my shower floor that developed a stress crack.
Suggest unlike me you find something to practice using this on rather than learning on the fly with your shower floor. We were in a situation where doing this was a last ditch effort before shelling out for the shower to be replaced.
VERY SMELLY. Make sure you can ventilate where you are working or ideally do whatever it is you are doing with it outside.
Do wish it was easier to judge the activator. I used a scale to measure out resin but just had to eyeball the additive from the small tube. So far no problems but it is a bit nerve wracking when doing it the first couple of times.
This is NOT clear epoxy, comes out pretty much translucent vomit colored. Plan to paint/gel coat or something unless that is the look you are going for 🙂

Quick and easy purchase with fast delivery.. The price was right and it was a non issue purchase.

Works well, as I expected as a 3M product. People complain about the hardener not working well, but that’s because you need to use more than the instructions describe: ’10 drops per oz of product’. Well I did like 10 ounces, and 100 drops, and it took forever to harden. I think you should be using more like 15-20 drops per oz of resin, because I had a lot of hardener left over at the end of the first resin bucket – and after I began using more hardener. The instructions say, right before the above paraphrase, that one bottle of hardener should be used for one full container of resin. So half the resin, half the hardener, etc. At any rate, it works great once you use more like 15-20 drops of hardener per oz resin.
