Replaced on volvo penta 5.7, works good. Do need to top off a couple times per season, I think because its clocked at a funky angle. But a new $800 one would be the same.

I installed the pump. Upon first use, the pulley shaft bearing failed and power steering fluid sprayed in the engine compartment. As I had passed the 30 day return window before I could install it, Amazon would not refund me the cost. Now I have to remove it and replace it with a better, working pump. What a hassle.

Installed yesterday. Perfect replacement on my ‘04 Volvo Penta 5.7 at 1/7th of the OEM cost. Did not need any additional hardware or washers. Just got this and a pully kit on here for $35 and all is working great. Hopefully it lasts!

This does fit a merc 3.0 but!!!!! It needs spacers and listen to this warning!!!! WATCH OUT FOR THE TEETH ON YOUR WRENCH IT WILL PUT A HOLE INSIDE THE PUMP HOUSING. Besides that it’s great it does need all the factory to work well but it sure does you just have to deal out the original hardeware. And be careful with using a pulley press it’s tricky but we ended up using a set screw type style of puller to grab the pulley sleeve and internally push the pump away since it was in my hands it’s pulling differently.

Not sure how long this will last but installed on customers boat and he was able to finish out the season with no issues. This is the ONLY alternative to the $600+ oem volvo penta pump. Btw, if your buying this because your power steering pump ran dry and burned your pump up, check your steering arm behind the motor. Probably where all your fluid leaked out. Get ready to Break Out Another Thousand on that.

Part was a exact replacement. Be aware that you need to buy a pulley puller and a pulley pusher to complete the install. First time out it was great. Second time out it was getting noisy similar to the pump it replaced. Third time it caught on fire, lots of smoke, no it wasn’t the belt. People at dock wanted to call fire department. I guess I’m buying another pump, just not this brand.
