The AOWEITOUR switch works as designed and has positive switching, but without UL labeling, I’m not so sure about using this in an environment where there could be explosive fumes and can’t really speak to the 300A rating. It does have CE labeling, which may or may not cover the ignition protected design, but should cover the amperage rating. Except for the ignition protection and capacity, I can confirm that it switches positively and feels durable. I like that it is easily either bulkhead surface or sub-panel mounted. Overall, I’ll go with an average rating on this because it works great for me in a 60A application where there is no ignition danger.

This works great for my little Carolina skiff battery. I installed it surface mounted to a piece of starboard on the inside of my console to keep it out of the elements. It looks and performs like any other battery switch I have had and came with mounting screws which was nice. So far no problems to report!

I’m pretty heavy into car audio. I have a nice, if budget, system in my vehicle, including my recently-assembled LiFePO4 bank. The bank is pretty awesome, I equipped it with a few toys. When I designed it I wanted more use than just car audio, so I added a few cables with welding twist connectors that let me add my power inverter, and there will be more to come, including a solar array. At first I was using a distro block, but it meant the cord was always live, and from a safety standpoint I just wasn’t happy with it. When i saw this selector switch I had a much better idea.
It arrived in a plain box and contained the switch and four screws.
Installation isn’t difficult. There are three studs (and they are big studs) where you attach your leads. In the intended setup you would connect your first battery/bank to the one marked #1, the second battery/bank to the one marked #2, and “Output” to load. What I did is run the bank power wire that connects to my Jeep to #1, the bank wire that connects to my inverter/other accessories to #2, so now I can choose which set I want to run, if not both.
This setup works out very well for me. I can fully deactivate the external leads on my bank to prevent any accidental shorts, and choose which power line is actually energized. Before I was having to cap off the leads to prevent contact and just be careful with handling, but I didn’t like leaving that much to chance. This is a much better setup.
Overall I’m thrilled with this selector and plan on keeping it in use for a while. I’ll try to remember to update this review once I have a few more miles with it, but until then I recommend!

The battery switch is well constructed and has a firm, positive feel to the switch. It is NOT waterproof like it says in certain places in the description. Perhaps the switch part of it is waterproofed but the contacts themselves are very obviously exposed. Also, I got this (free via Vine) for use with a 36v LiPO battery pack as it was listed up to 48V but the unit itself says “32V max” on the front (this actually shows in product photos if you look). It’s not clear to me based on the label if the product is actually OK for up to 48V at 300A continuous, but is only approved for up to 32 V in specific over-current circumstances? The specific text reads, “450A 5 MIN. 675 A 30 SEC. 32V DC MAX.“ which is visually distinct from where it says “300A CONT.” in a different typeface and size… which leads me to think that it is this restriction to 32V is ONLY for when you’re exceeding 300A.
My application is for a custom-made DC motor tracked vehicle with currents less than 40A continuous so I personally don’t feel any hesitation in using this switch for my purposes, at both 36V and 48V.
