I replaced these in my 2008 Acura MDX and my son’s 2010 Acura RDX. They where easy to install on the cap. The other end is a challenge in these Acuras. The tip goes inside a holder that is very difficult to remove from the small door. That is the real challenge to the installation. Other than that, we have to see how long the rubber last before becoming brittle and breaks.

I purchased this gas cap tether for my 2010 Honda Insight. It works as a comparable replacement for my 2020 Honda Insight without any issues. I reused the original ring but, the new ring should work also. However, in this case I only used the tether part with my original ring.

Comes apart and does not keep the gas cap attached

It was a chore getting this on the gas cap. Very brittle plastic, not much leeway. Also once attached it did not work as well as the OEM cap. It did not free spin when loosening or tightening the cap. I might try to re-use my Orig part and try to just use the stem that attaches to the main body.

Very easy to install, direct replacement of the original tether ring… Not stiff, probably more flexible than the one from factory.
So far so good and great value for the money. No need to replace the whole fuel cap.
