There’s not a lot to say on these. They are made to clean out the threads on soot sensors. Soot sensors typically get very hot from regeneration cycles. Sometimes when removed, the threads can be damaged. This means you’re either chasing out the threads or you’re having a new bung welded in. M22 x 1.5 is pretty much the standard size for soot sensors. If you own a diesel, you should have one of these.
Chasing the threads is a lot cheaper. And with two of these at this price point, these are a great value.
They arrived in great shape and the quality looks acceptable. The threads look crisp they have the typical black coating to protect from corrosion.
The 3/8 recess has divots to hold on to your ratchet via the ball on the drive. Out of the two chasers there was one side of the 8 positions where the ball on my recently new ratchet would not hold. So, a minor imperfection in one ball recess. Not a big deal to me.
I’m very happy to use these while changing my soot sensor.
