These chargers do work at maintaining lead-acid batteries, as trickle chargers. They only provide a low 0.5A current, so it took them more than a day each to get two large sized batteries to the green status even though these batteries were not fully discharged.
There is little else to these chargers other than providing the charging voltage and sustaining a 0.5A current. There are no means of control over the operation and the only indication they provide is a LED light, either red during charging or blinking, alternating red and green when the battery voltage reaches an unspecified threshold, thus when (probably) the charger switches to a monitoring state. There is no mention of the red/green blinking anywhere, so it is just up to guessing what this may mean. De-sulfating involves a full cycling of the battery, I am pretty sure these chargers do not do that in spite of the product title on the amazon page, and they come with no instructions to state otherwise.
The one thing I find confusing is that, by default, the LED light is green on these. Like, plugging them in the power outlet without connecting the clamps to a battery turns the LED green. Also, not plugging them into the power and just connecting to a battery that has some voltage turns the LED green, and then only after plugging the power plug the LED turns red. Looks like there’s a very primitive circuitry for the flow of current, with the LEDs on opposite flows and nothing smarter than that. All good, simple is reliable, but I tested one blown-out battery connected to either one of these chargers and the LED was solid green – totally deceiving. So, there is no analysis nor any meaningful indication of the state of the battery being charged.
On the bright side, these are lightweight, compact, and have alligator clips which saves me the hassle of using adaptors for the tiny terminals on small UPS batteries. They did heat up while charging batteries, but not excessively. I did not get a chance to test them under extreme temperature conditions. For basic, set and forget simple trickle chargers for known good batteries inside a heated garage these look like a viable choice. But the lack of any specifications prevents me from rating these any higher than four stars.

So far, well worth the price. Only drawback is the alligator clips won’t fit on a post only battery, but still worth it.
