A very simple yet useful adapter designed for use with DeWalt brand 20v series of batteries. This is a great idea and I’m so glad I found it. This adapter has a push-button on/off switch that is also used to choose between a common 12volts DC power source or the 18volts DC (maybe delivers up to 20volts ?). The adapter box itself is very lightweight and feels very cheaply manufactured but it functions as it should. Kit comes with a standard 12volt accessory socket and a plug with a black and a red wire with bare leads. The options plug into the adapter with a proprietary plug and socket that plugs into the end of the adapter.

I liked the thought of these, I bought two. They BOTH turn off at random times. Makes no sense. I tried different batteries and switched out the wires. They just randomly turn off.
I bought them to power my cooler, but it is NOT dependable.
Very disappointed in this product, especially since I had my hopes up.
Edit…I figured it out. they shut down after 3 minutes of no power draw. In my case, it’s 3 minutes after the compressor shuts down in the cooler. That’s what it seemed random.
So, I can NEVER use this for my cooler, or anything that does not need a load for 3 minutes or more at a time.

This adapter is very lightweight, leaving me curious as to why it’s so bulky. It’s almost as big as the battery itself. With 3 output ports able to deliver 3 voltages, it’s a very handy accessory. I like that you can press the button to switch to the full battery voltage (17-21 volts) if your application needs more than 12 volts. But I quite wish there was an actual switch on the XT60 output, there’s certainly room to put one. I stress tested the XT60 connector with a 12V 10A heater and it held up fine on the 12v setting, for all of 8 minutes before it started flashing red due to low battery. The USB ports held up well to a 2A dummy load, keeping the output at a rock-solid 5V. I like that the top is totally flat, so you can rest your phone on it. Or, you can sit it upside down, with the battery on top. That helps compensate for one odd flaw –the USB-A port is mounted upside down. So you need to sit the whole thing upside down if you want to use a USB “charger doctor”. I’ll note that the main power button has no affect on the USB ports- they are powered up as long as the battery is connected. That means it will eventually deplete your battery if you store them mounted together. Overall a great product.

I have the yellow DeWalt version. I tested it with both DeWalt and Milwaukee batteries and both batteries snap in and work perfectly. Makita batteries will not fit in this yellow adapter.
When turned on, the XT60 port provides 12.25Vdc open circuit. It’s rated for 10 Amps and that will power my mini ice chest which draws just under 8 amps.
The unit can provide 12V or unregulated battery voltage to the XT60 port. The instructions say it can provide 12V or 18V, but the 18V value is just the manufacturers way of saying direct battery voltage. That voltage will change as the battery discharges, it is not regulated to any specific value.
I tested the USB C port and the best I could get was 15 watts, 5V @ 3 Amps.

I purchased this to run a 12v fillet knife. On a fully charged almost new20 v dewalt batttery with the converter set on 12v, i pluggged in the fillet knife and it ran for a few seconds and shut off. Tested the output voltage and showed 11.5. Set converter to 18v and fillet knife operated. Output voltage was exactly 18 v when tested. So not sure what theproblem is on the 12v setting

I have many DeWalt tools and lots of batteries. I have other adapters for the DeWalt batteries that have the USB ports so you can charge cell phones and the like, but wanted to be able to power some 12V items that use the cigarette plug. This adapter does both and lets you select between a 12 volt or 18 volt output. I don’t have use for the 18V but it never hurts to have the option if needed in the future. It came with two output wires, one for 12V cigarette lighter plug and the other is just wired that you can modify for whatever project you need. Worked with moth my 20V max and 20V/60V flex batteries. Great adapter so far.

This is one I feel like I’ll have to update later I’m going to put some heavy use on this and see how it holds up I use it for RC battery charging where it can be quite rigorous so I will see how it goes up and come back and update this review I feel like there’s something I want to mention I’m not going to dog it out but I am going to put it through some serious use

Works great as a USB/12V adapter to your stash of DeWalt packs. Maintains a decent 5V on USB up to 3 amps. I wouldn’t try to use this for heavy usage but a 150 watt draw will probably be the limit on the 12V. It’s switchable from 12V to 18V pack voltage. Clips in with confidence and latches appropriately. Good construction and feature set!
