This is a great kit! Everything is good quality, and it came with so many sprockets and tensioners that I was able to replace the chain without having to run to the store in the middle and grab a different sprocket than the kit came with. Winner for me, and I’m a happy camper!

I priced this timing chain kit at local auto parts stores and even the off brands were way more expensive than this one. I have an older equinox and this kit fit perfectly. Just make sure to check compatibility before purchasing and you should have no problems. It seems to be well-made and will hold up even though that time in chains are known to go in the older model equinox SUV’s.

El kit se ve de excelente calidad, ajusta perfectamente en 2.4l ecotec de gmc 2016, las marcas de las cadenas están en el lugar correcto por lo que no hay lugar a equivocación, los piñones se sienten con buena terminación e igual tienen sus marcas para su correcta colocación, solo debo señalar que no le doy 5 estrellas por 2 cosas, no trae incluido los tornillos ni la junta y que realmente es el tiempo el que dirá la última palabra en cuanto a la calidad y durabilidad del kit, preferiría que fuera algo más caro pero incluyera la junta y los tornillos, esos tornillos lleban torque y no es recomendable reusarlos. Cabe señalar que después de instalado el kit el motor funcionó perfecto, no tiene ningún sonido extraño, se mantiene sereno y sin vibraciones excesivas pero solo el tiempo dirá que tan duradero es el kit por lo que pienso volver a publicar mi experiencia cuando alcance las 1000 millas y después a las 3000 cuando realize el cambio de aceite para ver si salen particulas de metal, esa será la prueba definitiva de la calidad del kit y si lo merece se llebara sus 5 estrellas, hasta ahora con 160 millas funciona de maravilla.

Iv installed over 20 2.4 timming chain kits over the years this one failed in under 1000 miles glad the customer heard something wrong and stopped before it was a motor replacement

As a professional automotive technician, I have replaced a lot of timing chains. I prefer to use OEM products but sometimes circumstances make using cheaper materials necessary. This timing kit appears to be of acceptable quality but time will tell.
The kit installed as normal and the tensioners apply adequate tension but the real test will be time. Cheaper metal found in cheaper parts will stretch in less time than higher quality kits. Once this happens you will start getting check engine lights with codes for p0016 or p0017 most commonly. There is 1000 miles on the new chains so far and all is good. As of now I am giving this kit 5 stars for quality and value. I will update this review if anything changes.

This timing chain set looks to be made well and has an excellent price. I did however find one problem. The main chain tensioner guide where it mounts was inserted backwards. I had to remove the retaining clip and reinstall it, I would say there is a possible quality control issue somewhere. Other than that everything else installed easily and mounted like the factory parts I replaced. It has been working perfectly for the past 4 months and no more annoying chain noise. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone needing their timing chains replaced!!!
