Buen material, pero no encajan todas las piezas, tuve que comprar algunas y otras originales reutilizar, pensé que iba a tener dicho kit completo instalado en mi Chevrolet HHR 2010, pero no.
Llego como se esperaba, justo a tiempo, lo malo que no encajo completo, en la imagen se nota los más claros los que no funcionaron con mi guagua, los más oscuros son los que estaban instalados.

I am a shop owner and customer insisted to use Amazon. Timing chain set set was installed professionally with an oil pump and new brackets from the dealership so far it sounds beautiful and it runs great. Would it?

To begin, installation was straight forward and definitely possible if you’re a dedicated DIYer; there’s many videos on how to replace the timing chain on Youtube which makes this very approachable. With that being said, I would advise against installing this yourself if you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing since installing this incorrectly could destroy your engine.
Now, the parts appear to be of comparable quality to the original parts and I have confidence they will last. I’m replacing this due to one of my original timing guides disintegrating on startup which caused the engine to go way out of timing. Luckily for me it was only on startup, therefore my valves weren’t damaged.
Also, be sure to order the correct timing guide bolts from GM as they are typically damaged and they are only a couple bucks.
Because my old timing guide guide exploded I had to remove the oil pan and retrieve the broken pieces from within, however, I almost forgot to prime the chain tensioner properly due to this. To be specific, the chain tensioner must be primed with oil so that it will hold tension against the chain on initial startup, to do this you need to rotate the engine manually with a wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt. Of course, there must be oil in the engine when doing this which is how I almost messed up as I tried “priming” it when the oil pan was off.
In addition, be sure to find all the correct torque specifications online and use them. At first I used the wrong torque specification on the chain tensioner which caused an oil leak on startup. I quickly realized and found the correct torque spec, tightened it, and had no further issues.
Lastly, many installation guides will strongly suggest that you need to lower the entire engine assembly from the vehicle in order to complete this job. This is not true and doing this while the engine is in the car is very possible. I did this on a 2011 Chevy Malibu and ran into no space constraints.
Overall, the product is priced fairly, arrived intact and well packaged, and has performed well so far. I would recommend.

The biggest issue I had was that the bushing in the bottom of the white main timing chain tensioner was installed in the part incorrectly, because of this the head of the bolt interfered with the timing chain cover and took out the oil pump. Had I done this before, or known about this I probably would have figured out how to fix it, but as received the parts were assembled wrong and caused a lot of extra work and expense redoing the timing again – and replacing the shattered oil pump.
The thing to look for is that the bolt for this particular chain tensioner goes through a bushing that is mounted to the tensioner. One side of this bushing has a recess for the head of the bolt, and the other side is flat – which should sit against the side of the engine.
*** UPDATE 4/14 ***
I now wish I could change to zero or negative stars. Now one of the chain guides has now broken and I have pulled out the rest of the parts and I would NOT trust this kit any further. PLEASE don’t make the same mistake I have, spend the extra and get something reputable like a Cloyes.

13 Chevy captiva….. Put it this way…. When your chain is slapping the covers to death, misfiring and generally running like dooky, for the money, it’s a value and will get you out of a jamb.
If you plan to keep your lil ECO motor for a good while, kick up the extra for the Cloyes timing kit.
