The media could not be loaded.
I need to install an external transmission cooler and these double female 6AN unions “should” allow me to connect two 6AN male flare ends together and have leak-free connections.
I ordered the straight and also the 90 degree unions.
It seems like the tolerances on these Truckmeter female unions/connectors both fit sloppy and male 6AN flare end threads fit loose. Even on the Truckmeter male flare fittings that I ordered fit loose.
I can tighten the ends together but I notice too much play or movement during the tightening process.
While installing the fittings together, I can move the ends too much up/down and in/out until I fully tighten things up.
Is it supposed to have that much play in it?
I have tried different brand 6AN male flare ends and they all fit loose which makes me feel like it is these Truckmeter female unions.
I have compared these to other brand 6AN female flare union connectors and those other brand unions tolerances are just tighter.
Hydraulic fittings are supposed to be a snug fit during installation so that connections will remain tight & leak-free at all times especially in a vehicle that vibrates them.
So right now I don’t fully trust it and therefore cannot recommend this union.
