I love these wipers. I am freakish about a clean windshield and these wipers perform beautifully. They are “Winter Blades” but I run them year round. The only thing that makes them winter blades is the “Rugged rubber cover over heavy duty frame prevents slush from freezing [in] joints”. It also keep out mud and everything else that could gum up the works. They last a good long time and when they start to streak, I wash them with a little Windex and a rag and that usually restores them to a streak free wipe, provided they’re not damaged. They do clip on/off easily. I buy them half a dozen at a time and keep two spares in the back. Like I said, I am freakish about a clean windshield.

It’s worth it to me to write a positive review of Anco Winter wiper blades because I’ve used them for years and they’ve never disappointed me. I live in the Upper Connecticut River Valley region of New Hampshire where in winter it’s pretty normal to have freezing rain. When this is happening and you’re on the road with “open” wiper blades, the freezing rain builds up inside the framework of the wiper and causes the blade to be less effective – even dangerously so, because parts of the blade fail to touch the windshield as they pass over it. Instead of a clear windshield, your “open” wiper gives you smears and streaks (to the extreme sometimes). This same negative effect can happen merely under snowy conditions as well.
What Anco Winter wipers have that’s so different is a rubber housing that covers the framework of the wiper and prevents most (if not all) of the icy buildup from taking place. I always look for Anco Winter blades whenever I need to replace windshield wipers, but so often they are sold out in stores. In fact, lately I haven’t been finding them in stores at all (by this I mean large discount chain stores like Target, Kmart or Walmart). That’s why I looked for them on Amazon, where I not only positively found them, but was able to get a very good price.

This wiper fits perfectly on the rear arm of my 2003 CR-V. I just wanted a cheap replacement until I replace the car itself and this blade is just fine.

I ordered the same wiper blades that I have had on my truck for the past ten years…or so I thought!
I am unable to buy the ANCO all weather wiper blades in any parts stores in my area, so I started to order them online through Amazon.
What I got in the mail today is some cheap knockoff wiper blades called TRICO.
These are not the blades that I ordered and/or expected!
They feel cheap, and probably won’t last me through the winter.
The company slogan reads “seeing you through”. seeing me through what…A SCAM!
Not happy, but will not return because they are already opened and installed on truck.
One other side note, one of the plastic release stems broke while i was putting them on.
Piece of junk.
Will be looking elsewhere in the future for new blades.

A short while after I voiced my displeasure to Amazon, they credited my account with no questions asked.
The wiper blades? What happened to them? Well I’m no hypocrite, they were removed from my truck (with some difficulty) and my old ones were put back on.
Never thought buying wiper blades would be such a hassle.

I live in Michigan, it does not have the coldest winters but they can get pretty bad at times. This year the temperatures have averaged well below zero degrees F before wind chill factor. Michigan may break a record for amount of snow fall in some areas as well this year.
-The rubber encasing the outside protects the moving parts of the wiper from freezing up thus allowing the wiper to work during horrible snowy, icy weather conditions.
-I just leave mine on year round and they seem to work just as well in the summer as they do in the winter. (This may cause them to prematurely wear out but the price is almost the same as regular wipers and there is always the risk of breaking them when you try to take them off).
-Anco wipers are great quality
-The price is very affordable
-If you live in an area that gets snow and ice this is a great wiper blade
I get an average of 2 years of use out of a pair of these but it depends on how much driving and how the weather was for those two years. I have tried other brands that were in the same price range and others that were very expensive. I have found that this is the brand and style of wiper that works best for me.
UPDATE 2-20-2015: I am now in the beginning of my second year with this wiper. It has been very cold here in Michigan. Today was -17 degrees before windchill. The wipers are still performing like champions. I used them many times today to wash off the salt residue and they still work as if they are brand new. Still a favorite here.
