Super easy install – does require that you enlarge the hole if replacing a cig lighter

Works well charges fast

Installation was super easy. Installed in a 2010 Toyota Sienna. Replaced one of the cigarette lighter plugs, probably had the whole job done in < 20 minutes (and I wasn't working fast). Had to do some slight modifications on the wiring, but that was to be expected. Now I have 4 USB outlets AND they're switched. Comes with a USB-C charging cable. Fantastic accessory to upgrade your old cigarette plugs!

I have only used these charges a few times but they have worked fine and seems to be good quality construction. One feature for potential buyers to know is that the on/off button on the charger will reset to the “on” condition when power it taken off the charger. I have the charger on a switched circuit so that when the vehicle is powered off, the power to the charger is off. When the vehicle is powered on the charger will be in the “on” state even if you used the charger’s button to turn it off before powering down the vehicle. I have several of these chargers at different locations around my motor home so it is a bit of a hassle to turn them all off after powering up the motor home. It is common to shut down the house power when leaving the motor home for an extended time, so this happens almost every day in my case. Not a big deal, but it was a surprise after I built charging stations and had them all installed. I may put an external “off” latching switch on each of the chargers since they are not on a common power line to prevent them from powering on and being a parasitic current draw when not needed.

easy to install. bigger than cigarette lighter but not hard to make that hole bigger. has worked well for us as we have different needs for phone chargers, nice to have the option of both. seems to charge at a normal speed and work as expected. has worked with any

Der on/off Knopf ist sehr klein, aber wenn man weiss, wo der sitz.. ok…der Durchmesser ist etwas grösser als der originale Zigarettenanzünder, aber mit einer Feile schnell passend gemacht.

I ordered this for my daughter’s CR-V because the connection she was using before in the basic cigarette lighter did not work very well. I wanted to replace the whole unit which meant a little more than just swapping out a few quick connections. I ended up taking out the whole center console to get access to the back and be able to take the old part out and access the wires. Unfortunately, the connection on the old piece had the two prongs at perpendicular angles so I couldn’t just pop the old one out and put the new part in. I ended up cutting the old wires, the ends of the new wires, and soldering them together. I did it this way because I wanted to keep the fuse that is built into the hot wire connection. Once I got that figured out, I was able to put the new unit in place. I ended up sanding around the hole to make it just a touch bigger. I’m not sure if that was fully necessary, but I was afraid if I tried to just screw the new unit in place, it might end up damaging the threads and then the clamp part wouldn’t go on right. The whole process took me about three hours but that also included some cleaning and a lot of trying to figure out what to do. Luckily I didn’t have to take the seats out to get the center part out like the guy on YouTube suggested, but it still took more work than I was expecting. I don’t fault the product for that however because it was specific to my situation. In the end, it works just like you would want it to and has a nice clean look to it. I also really like that it has a power button so you can turn it off if it’s connected directly to the battery to avoid draining it or to turn off the blue light if that bothers you. You can also take the cap cover thing off if you don’t want it, but seeing how dirty my daughter’s car was, I left it on. Teenagers…

I got this USB power socket to add to my boat because I’m redesigning the dash on it and it’s an older boat which does not have any USB power outlets. This outlet is marine rated, it has a rubber plug which protects the ports when not is use and it will give me the functionality I need by providing both types of USB ports for charging my devices.
The outlet comes with everything needed to install it – wires to hook to your 12V power source, a couple of spare fuses and also a coiled USB C cord. Installation requires drilling a little over a 1-inch hole (3cm) or you can make some sort of bracket, etc. in which to install it. The way it is designed, once you drill the proper hole and install it, it makes for a clean and neat installation. Hooking it up to 12V power is simple as well, the red wire hooks to positive and the black wire to negative. There is an inline fuse for circuit protection. Regarding the wiring, you can either wire it to an always on 12V power source or to a switched source that only comes on when the vehicle is on. The outlet has an on-off switch on it for if you wire it to an always on circuit, you can turn it off.
I like that it has backlighting on it so you can see how to plug into it at night. It also has pretty high charging capacity – 18W for the two large USB ports and 36W on the two type C ports. This means you can charge your devices fairly quickly and also power a lot of devices which use USB. According to the description, you can use all four ports simultaneously, but the total power output is only 90W, but that’s still a LOT of power output!
Overall, this is a great addition to whatever you install it on, especially if you don’t have any USB ports or even if you just need EXTRA USB ports. In my truck, I installed a similar outlet such as this because I never seem to have a free port for all the devices I have which need USB power. As I mentioned, I’m putting this one in my boat dash because I have no USB ports in it, this one is REALLY going to be a big help in that respect. I highly recommend this product!

I install these in all my cars in place of cigarette lighters. These are so much more useful. The only thing I don’t like about this one, is that the LED lights are very bright. I really would like someone to make one without all the glitz. It’s a little distracting at night. Otherwise it works as advertised.
