These brackets were easy to install on my utility trailer 4′ ramp The only problem I had was the ball studs popped out of the bracket after using several times. The studs are inserted like a rivet and are pressed rolling the backside over to hold in place. No threads and nut to hold in place like a bolt. They should have a max spring rating on them. I have ordered some heavier made ball studs that are threaded and will bolt into place. I also tried a 120# spring on one and it bent the bracket and pulled the stud out.

Good brackets but they’re closer to 3/8 Id for the hole size, not 10mm. The struts I used were redline brand, and while these work, they fit loosely, and leave the ball end sloppy feeling. Didn’t notice this at first, but consider it fail in measurement from the manufacturer, or mislabeled information for the bracket as 10mm and 3/8 is too much of a difference for this product to hold up long term. It’ll likely cause excessive play in the joint, friction, and potentially fail early on

The old ones pulled out that assist the RV bed lift. These attach to the (soft) wooden framing much better than the originals and should last longer. Not modification was necessary, just out with the old and in with the new.

I used this product for a custom install of a gas shock into a lift top bench. This bracket worked perfect for mounting and has held up well over the last few weeks. This was installed in an outdoor environment and is subject to water and moisture. The finish out of the package was in good shape and I don’t see any reason it wont hold up for a long time.
The only issue I had with this bracket is that the mounting flange was rather thin. Probably not a big deal if you are replacing an existing mounting bracket on a car or a metal surface, but when attached to pressure treated wood with 1″ screws this tending to rack a little as the lid was opened and closed. I installed 3″ screws and this helped a bit, but I am still concerned that it may loosen up over time. Again, not the fault of the product, just my application.
