This locking gas cap it my truck just fine. It gives me peace of mind that nobody is going to screw around with my gas or gas tank.
Having said that, 9 times out of 10, I have trouble getting the key to push past the lock cover and go into the lock. I have fairly large hands and it’s no fun constantly knocking my knuckles around inside the gas door trying to get the key pushed into the lock. When I do get it in and turned to unlock, sometimes the key doesn’t stay in the unlocked position so I have to hold the key in position with one hand while I turn the gas cap with the other.
I’ve come very very close to just tossing this one and going back to my old gas cap. I’m not sure why I haven’t yet…
