Watched youtube video to replace part on my 2010 Mazda CX7. Worked perfectly and only took 10 minutes. BTW also buy the door clips as you will break several.

Absolutely the correct fit for my 2009 Mazda 3. Easy 5 to 10 minute repair, assuming stripped teeth are the cause of the problem. A real loud grinding sound and the glass stuck is the symptom. Be sure to remove the stripped gear residue from the gearbox. Superb instructions and information enclosed. Window now is the quietest one of the four. Very positive action. Got to be the most cost effective power window fix ever!

Perfect fit for a 2008 Mazda RX-8.
For years I thought these window regulator motors were sealed and non-serviceable. So I would just replaced the motors.
Replacing the motor is not horribly expensive. They cost around $30 on average for the RX-8.
Then I recently learned that you can actually repair the motor. It’s not the actual motor that goes out but the big gear inside. So I ordered this gear.
Popping the motor housing itself can be tedious because you are holding it while trying to pry it open at the same time. Had the brilliant idea of using a vice (duh!!). With the vice now I had my two hands free to maneuver and it took 5 seconds to pry the housing open by tapping it with a small screw driver around the edges. It pops open like a clam shell. I think The housing is held together by some tabs.
Replaced the broken gear, applied lubricant, closed the housing, reinstalled and now the window works as new.
$30 for a new motor is not bad but $7 for the gear feels a lot better!!
And it is certainly cheaper than taking it to shop!
The worst part of the job is removing the door panel and and all the cable connections. It’s not really hard but you have to be gentle.
Also, make sure to buy the plastic clips that hold the panel in place ahead of time because those always break…maybe not all of them but a few are guranteeed to break.

Window on my 2008 Mazda RX8. started having issues rolling all the way up and stopped a few times on the way up but went down fine. Discovered the gear had stripped in one section, bought this replacement as it was called a perfect match and IT WAS. Windows working perfectly now.
