Alternator is no good. Bought June of last year. Alternator drive gear is out on Goldwing. First thought was that original alternator was faulty. Noise was diagnosed as alternator originally. Bought this one and replaced it,. Obviously, noise was still their. Parked bike, put on battery tender, started every couple of weeks until 5weeks ago when I pulled the motor. Mind you the bike was not ridden all winter. So, 0 miles since alternator was installed. Just finished replacing ADG this week but bike not charging. Testing shows alt. not charging. Thank God hadn’t discarded old one. Replaced it. Charging great. So, alt. was not good from original purchase. Really disappointed. Crazy thing is did not know it was bad until now due to waiting to do ADG myself to save dealer 4,000.00. While I had the motor out I installed new starter also. Guess where I bought it. Now I’m worried how long it will last. You get what you pay for. Be careful. Did return alternator and they did give me a full refund. So that was good. Still not sold on their products yet. By the way I just updated this to 6-7-222 and haven’t had any problems with the starter.

The original factory alternator was in my motorcycle for a hundred and twenty six thousand miles and twenty years. This alternator quit working after 6 months. I don’t have any fancy lighting or anything on my bike that would drain more than the normal factory alternator. There’s absolutely no reason an alternator should die in six months. Just like anything else, you get what you pay for!
Buy the factory OEM, or spend the money and get the Compu-fire alternator. Fortunately as a Prime Member, I received a full refund minus a restocking fee of $29.

This alternator replaced my original on my 2001 GL-1800 Goldwing w/ABS and works perfectly. The shipping boxes were not in good shape upon arrival at my doorstep, but there was no problem with the alternator. Very happy with this equipment and it delivers the required voltage and amperage to keep the battery charged and the Goldwing running.

2016 Honda Goldwing 187000 km on bike, alternator I replace it before failure. Mounted up as factory and pumped out 14 volts. I just put 100 KM on bike and still works so far.
