  • REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD — Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner’s manual)
  • EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING — Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency
  • CONSISTENT RIDE — OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces
  • LONGER SERVICE LIFE — Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life
  • IMPROVES PERFORMANCE — Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade

Great value for the price. Works well on my Chevy Tahoe towing a 6000 pound trailer. Made the ride smooth with or without tower.

I bought these to replace the factory rear shocks on my 04 Tahoe.
I was expecting cheap crap because they are made in the country that starts with a C and has 5 letters. But Monroe engineers a world class shock so I took a chance.
I was pleasantly surprised. They fit perfectly and the ride is excellent. I would highly recommend these shocks at least for an 04 Tahoe.

Fits 00-06 suburbans with the zw7 rpo code shocks. They ride a lot better. If any ride height is gained it isn’t very noticable. They look a lot better under there too which is a nice touch. Definitely a good deal. Easy to install.

I ordered these shocks for my 2002 Suburban and I have to say that I am completely disappointed. I wasn’t expecting a miracle, but the “load adjusting” abilities of these were completely non-existant. I used these to replace the factory (175k mile) shocks on the rear of the truck. When I removed the original shocks from the truck I noticed that they were, A) in amazing condition and were still working great and, B) they were significantly larger than the Monroe shocks. The body of the original shocks was easily 1/2″ larger in diameter than the entire outer spring of the new Monroe shocks (which left me worried).

I have several trailers I tow on a fairly regular basis ranging from a small pop-up camp trailer to a 16′ flatbed to a 24′ pontoon boat to a 28′ toy hauler. The new Monroe shocks made no difference in the ride height for any of these trailers compared to the factory shocks. In-fact, I use a anti-sway hitch for the toy hauler which weighs easily 100lbs by itself, and just putting the hitch on the back of my suburban will sag it 1″ with these shocks. No change from stock.

Now again, I wasn’t expecting a miracle, but even 30%-40% reduction in sag from the tung weight of a trailer would of been nice. I have noticed that most other reviews for these shocks fail to mention using them with a trailer, or what types of trailers they were used with. As daily driver shocks, they seem to preform exactly like the stock shocks, which is about the best thing I can say for them. No extra stiffness or harsh ride. Just a totally stock feel.

    They were a good fit

Easy to install (this is not a specific feature of the product rather the result of it only being a shock with two bolts and easy access on the vehicle), I did have to use a long pry bar to wiggle/walk the bottom of the shock into place. The shock itself is very nice quality, stiffer than my Zw7 smooth ride shocks (no surprise) but not a ridged concrete drive, still drives nice with a little give / bounce over bumps. I almost wish it was a little stiffer to prevent sag even further, but I may have to look into air bags if I really want to minimize (eliminate?) sag. It did raise my static height slightly (0.5 inches) and does help with sag, it just does not eliminate it. I haul two dirt bikes from the hitch with my hitch hauler.

  8. Happy shopper

I bought a used suburban and have been fixing all the little issues with it. I thought I was done until we had the truck full of people one evening. Every time I hit a bump the passengers in the third row would bounce off the seat. The ride felt perfectly smooth in the front seats so I started looking for rear shocks. OEM premium smooth ride shocks came in so just under $1000 bucks. Way more then I was willing to put into a 23 year old car. After researching a bit I found lots of good comments on these so I decided to try them. Well for the price you can’t go wrong. The back end is solid now and it lifted the rear about an inch. No more bouncing and my passengers are happy. I’m sure you can find smoother more comfortable shocks but you will certainly pay more too.

  9. Evan

Easy swap. Will raise your end up almost 2 inches.

    Good fit
