Doesn’t work with my Subaru gas cap. Had to modify my cap by cutting a circular channel in the rim, so that wire thing would have something to snap into. Wasted an hours time because it still doesn’t work well. And tether is way too short. Ended up making something out of a piece of wire, that works much better. At no cost.

We have a 2012 Honda civic and its gas cap tether broke. Tried getting a gas cap replacement but since I only need the tether, this is a more affordable fix. Installation is easy and now I don’t have to worry dropping my gas cap when filling up.

The principle is good but it will not fit the model of Ducato Motorhome I have even though advertised as it will. And I think that will also apply to the Citroen and Peugeot variants. You need a proper tether. Unfortunately none of the brands stock them so it’s a new fuel cap at around £50.00. Wouldn’t use a second hand part. Could be as bad as the one you’ve got. Then you need to think about changing the fuel cap lock over also!

I wish that I would have read the customer comment prior to purchasing this product. As noted, IT DID NOT FIT MY STANT FUEL CAP! The company should list that fact in their spec sheet so that customers would be aware of the problem.
Amazon, even though it was not their fault, could not have been more helpful. When I told them about the problem, they resolved it at once. As usual, Amazon comes through with a AAA rating on customer service.

It worked pretty well but the Included fasteners didn’t fit. I was able to find a suitable fastener and am quite pleased with outcome. Not as good as factory Honda but very good price and attachment part of is metal. Doorman always seems to have decent products that work and this fits that description

Don’t buy this product. Make the effort to buy a complete fuel cap replacement that comes with a tether, it will be the same cost as this. You will be frustrated at how cheaply made this product is and how little you get for your money. This should be at most a few dollars.

It is a cheap and easy solution, but it is not perfect. I found the cable to be a bit short, and the ring does not allow the cable to slide smoothly around my fuel cap when I turn my cap. Sometimes the cable could be stuck at a bad angle when I try to open/lock my cap, so it may take some effort to adjust the cable to allow the cap to turn. However, it is still handy to allow the cap to be attached without any worries about losing it, and it is much cheaper than buy a new OEM cap.

I did have to find a larger pin to attach the cord, but the part that attached to the cap was perfect!
