If you are like me and can repair anything, do yourself a favor and be prepared to be frustrated. The product itself is fine. Its the removal and installation process for the 2010 AWD Infiniti G37X that’s a royal pain.
You’ll have to remove the front driver side tire, lift the car up, disassemble the steering, AND lift the motor just so it can hopefully drop out.
If you can have the patience, then you too will be rewarded with a new starter motor.

I was a bit hesitant to go with a third party vs OEM, but the value was too good to pass up! I followed a few YouTube videos showing how to remove/replace the starter from my 2008 G37 and it fit perfectly. It’s definitely tight maneuvering the starter into place, but the job can be done in 1–2 hours with a socket wrench. After it was installed, the car started up right away with no hesitation. I suspect I’ve had a failing starter for several months. The car used to start sluggishly, like I had a low battery, but it was the starter all along!
I replaced the OEM starter with this one back in May 2024 and it’s been running smoothly for about 7 months now. Feels like a new car again! I don’t expect it to last as long as the OEM one has (16+ yrs) but the value is worth giving it a chance.

The starter motor in my Z34 started giving up. The symptom was like a weak battery where it felt like it didn’t have enough juice to crank. I replaced a new battery, and it didn’t help, obviously. As it progressed over the months, it got worse and the engine would require 2, sometimes 3 presses of the start button to crank up. I checked the battery and alternator and they were fine. Suspecting the starter motor, I went to the dealership and found that the original Nissan one would cost over $1000. The Nissan parts guy must have felt sorry for me because he hinted that they’re all made by Hitachi and I should just find a third party compatible unit. So, I found this and saw that there were good reviews so figured that I have nothing to lose at $80+. Best decision ever. This compatible starter is amazing. Has a quality feel, bolts right on, even has the weather strip. I believe the cranking torque is higher than the factory unit as it sure feels this way. Been using it a month now and it starts so strongly and positively. It didn’t even start up as good as this when the Z was brand new. If I could buy a crate of these, I would. But it looks like it’ll probably outlive the ownership lifespan that I will have on this car. If this model matches your part number, trust me, your search ends here. You can thank me later.

Exchange or refund please ..!!!!!! Installed in December 2024 -and it crapped out in January 2025. That’s one months time!!!!!! A very short time for what is supposed to be a trusted part!!!! Maybe it’s a fluke but it doesn’t look good.NOT GOOD!!!! At all!!!!! Too much work has been put into installing this type of starter, lifting the engine and etc. again not good!!!!!!

Works Well

Fit perfectly on my car and works great.

Works great, but the foam seal is hard to keep in place that keeps water out of bell housing. Other than that, very pleased.

I own a 2008 G37 S Coupe, my starter went bad and had to buy a new part. Auto Zone had it for $380
Freaking expensive! Luckily I found this part and after reading the reviews I definitely went for it and got a replacement for way more cheaper, can’t be more happier.
Works great and starts the car right away !
You should buy it if you need a new starter on your G.
Keep in mind it’s a struggle to take the starter out but once you do it you’ll struggle again to put the new part back in, just be patient and you’ll get the job done.
