This is listed as being tested with a specific vehicle, but I think it will work with a lot of Key FOBs and even watches or other small devices that need a CR2032 battery. The kit has two batteries, a small slotted head screwdriver, a small phillips head screwdriver and a small plastic “pry” tool all in a ziploc pouch. The batteries are labeled as good through 2034, so a 9 to 10 year shelf life. I’d recommend this kit for anyone needing to immediately swap batteries as well as something to have on hand in case needed.

I love any kit that includes the CR2032 battery. Out of all of my devices that require the coin-size batteries, the vast majority use the CR2032. This kit includes everything you need to change the batteries in a VW fob (or anything else for that matter).

These are really nice quality lithium batteries, and have worked very well in the fobs i’ve tried so far (one Dodge, one VW). 2032 batteries are universal, so I’m not really sure why the product listing calls out VW specifically; these will work in many, many brands of fobs. The included tools are convenient if you don’t have tools laying around.
My only sticking point is the price, these are at least double other name-brand lithium batteries, and I’m not sure why. There are plenty of other options to save money. However, these are indeed nice batteries that work fine, and therefore deserve a 5 star rating in my opinion.

My VW key fob went dead but is working perfectly again thanks to these batteries. Very easy to change out and a lot less expensive than paying a dealer to fix!

Update – I ordered another set of batteries (CR2025s) from this company, and received 2 Panasonic branded batteries in a similar kit. This leads me to believe that there is nothing special about these 2032s as far as longevity or temperature tolerance is concerned. The batteries look identical, save for the “Panasonic” and “Industrial” thinly emblazoned on the 2025s. Every other icon is in the exact same spot. It appears that there is a producer of these batteries that other companies get their supply from, and can put their own brand on.
These 2032s have an amazing listed shelf-life of ten years. They are also labeled as being able to operate within a temperature range of -4°F and 140°F. Being made of lithium, they should also last longer than their counterparts, and the packaging states “70% extra life”.
My millimeter read 3.3V when I tested it, which is good. I plan to install this in my wife’s 2019 Hyundai Ioniq hybrid’s key fob soon, and will update my review if it doesn’t last long.
It comes with two tiny screwdrivers and a pick for print things open or doing minor repairs. If you don’t need the tools or the shelf-life, 2032 batteries can be purchased for a much lower price.

What can you say about batteries lol. Either they work or they don’t and these work! I needed a pair for a kitchen scale, not a key fob and these fit the bill and the scale works again! I’m sure they’ll do just fine in your key fob!
