Look, I’m not a mechanic. I change my own oil, rotate my tires, that sort of thing. But when it comes to the finer points of car maintenance, I usually leave it to the pros. But even I know dirty filters can mess with your car. So, when I saw this Cabin Engine Air Filter Kit, and it fit my Santa Fe, I figured, why not?
The kit arrived, and right away, it was clear these weren’t some cheap knock-offs. The filters felt solid, good quality material. The listing made it clear they fit a bunch of models, and thankfully, my Santa Fe was on that list. I hate when you order something and it turns out to be wrong.
Changing the cabin filter was a breeze. A quick YouTube video, and I had it done in five minutes. The engine air filter took a bit more effort, but nothing a guy with a screwdriver and a bit of patience couldn’t handle. It was satisfying to see how dirty the old ones were.
Now, I’m not gonna pretend I noticed a massive difference in my car’s performance. But, I do feel like the air in the cabin is cleaner, especially with allergy season kicking in. And, I know my engine’s breathing better, which is always a good thing.
The only thing I didn’t love was the packaging. It was just a plain cardboard box. A little more effort on that front would have been nice. But hey, it’s what’s inside that counts, right?
Bottom line, this filter kit did what it was supposed to do. It fit, it was easy to install, and it seems to be doing its job. If you’ve got one of the cars listed, and you’re not afraid to get your hands a little dirty, this kit is a solid choice.

I just changed both the engine air filter and the cabin air filter in a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe using the pair of COCOAUTO filters. These filters fit perfectly, and were easy to install, and better than OEM.
I priced both filters at the Hyundai dealership parts department where the vehicle was purchased. They wanted $51 for the cabin air filter and as I recall $25 for the engine air filter.
While I normally prefer to use OEM parts, if possible, in this case the OEM cabin air filter is inferior, and is only a basic air filter. These COCOAUTO filters add both charcoal and HEPA filters and are superior at much lower cost.
The engine air filter installed easily, and while not looking exactly the same, it was extremely close, and fit into the filter slot with no issues at all, and the locking levers locked properly.
The dealer wanted $99 to install the cabin air and “sanitize” the system, and as I recall over $50 for the engine air filter.
There are quite a few YouTube videos for changing these filters. The engine filter literally will take 2 minutes to change. It will be under 5 minutes if you are extremely careful, and even take a photo as I did. Just be aware of the 2 locking levers on each side of the filter.
The cabin air filter is a bit more difficult to change since you need to get behind the glove box. This is still one of the easiest cabin air filters I’ve changed. You will need to empty the contents of the glove box, and that will likely take longer than actually changing the filter. You need to remove the 2 glove box stoppers on each side by twisting them, then unlatch the door damper. This will allow the glove box to swing all the way down. Behind the glove box is a plastic cover than you release and pull off. Then pull out the old filter, noting the air flow indicator (arrow down if you missed it).
Then insert the new filter, paying attention to the air flow arrow, and reverse the process of putting the plastic cover back on, insert the glove box stoppers, and re-attach the damper rod. This sounds more complicated than it is, and again there are many well done videos available. Removing and putting back the contents of the glove box will take the most time.
So, with about 10 to 15 minutes of time you can save about $125 versus paying the dealer service department to change the filters, and significantly have better filters as well.
The recommended service interval for these filters is 20K miles. These were changed at around 36K, and they were both very dirty, so 20K or less depending on driving conditions seem correct.
