I actually didn’t know cabin air filters existed until I was messing around with my glove compartment and noticed this filter in my 2005 toyota corolla. I checked my 2001 camry and it didn’t have one so I guess these cabin air filters are relatively recent. Anyway the filter was really dusty but I figured I could vacuum it and stick it back in there. Unfortunately I kind of fell apart and I couldn’t stick it back there (I could have but it didn’t seem worth the hassle). So I went a few weeks without it and didn’t really notice any difference in air quality (I also have mild allergies). Anyway finally got this and because it was only 10 dollars and Ive used the pentius brand before. Stuck it in there and still (after few months) don’t really notice a difference but maybe the air is cleaner.
Don’t confuse this with your engine air filter, that is important and should be changed regularly.
