This unit fits Makita batteries very well. A 18-20Volt battery is more than enough to turn over small engines with an electric start. This worked really well for that purpose. You could use it on 4 cylinder engines, but don’t expect it to crank an engine over for an extended period of time. You’ll probably melt the wires. Used correctly, this is a great tool.

I didn’t have a car battery that need to be boosted when I received this so I did some testing with this with a couple marine batteries I had in storage that did need to be charged anyway.

    Things that I like/love…
    • Clamps/construction was good but not quite as overbuilt as NOCO brand. Still very acceptable
    • Got 0.5v after only 5-10 minutes of connection time (used two different meters to verify)
    • Hardly wore the battery down at all (9ah)
    • While not UL listed, no misleading claims of being FCC part 15 compliant or Intertek tested

    Things I don’t really like…
    • Instructions a little hard to follow even if it’s kind of self explanatory. Also the mice type was too hard to see even with reading glasses on.

    Things I didn’t test….
    • Whether it can be used for powering anything other than boosting batteries.

Overall, I like it and think it could save the day if you happen to have any m18 batteries and this device around at the same time which might not always be the case for me personally but I’d take both with me on long road trips.

Great jumper! I added this to my car’s inventory should I ever need it.
It works great and functions as it should. There is a voltage regulator built inside to deliver about 13.5 volts. It steps down the voltage from the battery’s 18v to 13.5v.
The wire is on the thicker side and the clamps are easy to handle and use. The length of wire is smaller than other jumpers but it works great so I can’t really complain.
It’s very compact and delivers just enough power if you have a weak but good battery. It does not produce enough power to jump a car with completely dead battery or bigger engines. Overall a great product to have on hand!

Got this to keep in my pickup as I always have milwaukee batteries charged and ready to go. Don’t expect this to be able to boost my Duramax but I used it to jump start my neighbors ford escape at -30 and it saved me from having to take out my booster cables. Also used to jump start my side by side with no issues. The indicator lights are easy to follow and tell you when it is ok to try starting the engine. Would definitely recommend buying this just to have on hand for convenience.

I found this to be a very convenient jump starter as it works with all of my Makita cordless tool batteries. I was able to successfully use it to start my car when it’s battery started to die. However when I went to use it on my lawn mower that had sat all winter it would not start it without charging for a long period. My impression was that if the battery is too low of voltage this jump starter will only be able to charge the battery. Which means it doesn’t really have the cold cranking amperage required to start an engine. The other observation I made was that there is no kind of charge indicator for the Makita battery. Given that this starter will be used with a battery that comes off a tool, it would be helpful if it showed how much power the battery had left in it before trying to jump start an engine with it. Overall I am happy with it because it is small, lightweight, and works with my existing tools. It is a great addition to have in the tool box so you don’t get stranded on a jobsite after someone forgot to turn off the headlights.

works . It doesn’t work the best but I used it once on my 4wheeler. It started it but I had to leave it on there for a hot minute.

This jump starter is exactly as described and works great with Milwaukee M18 batteries. It can also jump-start a car using a tool battery. The engine can handle up to 3.5 liters, and it comes with an 11 AWG cable and a 12V 3.0A DC output. The dimensions are 4.8 x 3.2 x 2.2 inches. The jumper starter adapter is compatible with all Milwaukee M18 batteries.

The jumper starter has non-conductive rubber and a dual-grip design, which makes it easier to use and provides better conductivity, tension, and a secure grip. It’s perfect for mid-size vehicles, light trucks, and recreational vehicles, because it can deliver power where it’s needed.

    This product did not work.

After installing a backup camera in our old farm truck, we found the battery too low to start our Chevy 350 engine, so we decided to give this new “tool” a test. We hooked this adapter up with a fresh Dewalt 20V battery, and the truck fired right up. It’s a great tool for those times when the battery is just a little too weak to crank over. We did try using it on our old diesel tractor with a completely dead battery, and it wasn’t enough, so it’s best for low but not totally flat batteries.

One thing to note is that the LED indicator stays lit if the Dewalt battery is left plugged in, which could drain it over time. We just unplug it when not in use. Overall, it’s a handy tool to have around the farm for a quick boost when needed, and it saves us from having to drag out the big jumper cables every time.
