Fits good in 2001 f350 7.3 fuel bowl. Seals good no leaks.

I started to smell a strong diesel odor from the engine compartment one day. A couple of internet searches made me suspect that the seals on the water separator valve in my 2001 Ford F350 deteriorated. I removed the old valve and found that the internet was right. This new valve from Dorman looks and feels exactly like the old valve except, of course, that the new one has two brand new seals on it.

Watch the online videos on how to replace the valve. The only recommendation I would make is to buy a good low-profile ratchet to remove the Torx screw from the old valve. The space between the fuel filter bowl and the firewall was pretty tight. It took me a lot of time to unscrew the Torx screws because my ratchet extension was too long.

Perfect fit, works great. I had the seal on my last one go out a little and was leaking fuel. Now no more leaking fuel. And valve works great for draining fuel bowl.

    Product is as described.

My 1999 F250 7.3 was leaking fuel from the fuel filter drain line. Swapped out the fuel filter drain valve and problem solved. The OEM part uses a T20 for the mounting screws and this used a T15. It’s a tight fit to get your hand and a tool in there so you’ll need to plan accordingly.

Leaked after tough install. Removed it and purchased one from a local auto dealer and it worked great. Save and your money and time and purchase elsewhere.

I bought it almost 6 month ago and last week the fuel start to lack again, I hope it had last for over a year since the old one which I had replace 3 years go.

    Fixed problem

  8. Larry Turner

    Works great no more leaks

  9. Julie

A common issue with the Ford 7.3 is a leaking water fuel separator drain valve. Had a smell of diesel coming into the cab while driving and sure enough this was the problem. (Above is the old valve with the gaskets completely gone and the new Dorman 904-202 blue gaskets ready to go). After the install the fuel smell was gone, not to mention the obvious fuel leaking onto a hot motor hazard was gone and my MPG improved. Perfect fit for my 2000 Ford F-350 with a 7.3.
