I bought a 3pack of cabin filters from Amazon in July that still costs $24.24 including tax (free shipping). I got this one to compare: this 1pk KURIMUP filter costs $13.08 including tax (free shipping). At first glance they LOOK identical; but as I looked closer, there are differences which may or may not justify the price!
I will not mention the name brand of the 3pk but you can find it easily in Amazon.
1. The amount of “activated carbon” appears to be greater in the Kurimup; although the 3 layers are very similar.
2. There are 3 more folds in the Kruimup which equates to about 6 inches more surface area of filtration than the other brand.
3. The white plastic frame is twice as thick and therefore stronger to hold the filter material’s shape better on the Kruimup; a significant feature to keep the filter from becoming deformed and leaking on the sides while installing in the tight area these cabin filters fit into. (A leaky filter is no filter for some of the air coming into your car.)
So you decide: Are the differences I have described worth $5 more per filter?
I live on a dirt road so I have to change my cabin filter and my engine filter more often than normal. Hope this gives you the facts so you can fit the quality to your budget and environment.
