After getting over 7 years and 100,000 (trouble free) miles on the original pads on this 2008 Silverado, why in the world would I gamble on cheap auto-parts store aftermarket pads? These fit absolutely perfectly, and run silent, smooth, and stop well. I’ve had aftermarket pads that I had to grind the tabs to get them to fit properly in the calipers they were made so poorly. These work like they were made for the truck – oh wait! They WERE! This is the original OEM part, not one of the cheaper Delco replacement line.
The only downside is that GM packs these things in a box that’s about 5 times too big, and then of course Amazon overboxes them too, so they are banging around in the package getting beaten up during shipping. The first set I received had a chunk the size of a dime missing out of the friction surface. If you get a damaged set too, hold Amazon to the fire and have them replace them. The second set I received was undamaged.

After 88,900 miles on my 2013 Silverado 1500 LT I thought I may as well put new brakes on it (I was still running the originals). I have never had a truck get that many miles on a set of brakes, ever. You can’t argue with the quality of OEM with results like that. The rotors only showed slight wear but I replaced them anyway. These pads fit well and are obviously high quality. The toughest part of the job was getting the caliper bolts loose. I ended up breaking a socket (craftsman) so I rode to town and picked up a 18mm shallow 1/2 drive impact sock. Using a impact gun and just holding it on the bolts for 40-60 seconds they FINALLY began to turn, once the bond was broke they came out fine. I don’t know what the heck Chevrolet uses on the threads but dayum they are tight! Be prepared and have an impact socket and impact gun or a long extension on a breaker bar. You will also make the job easier if you turn your wheels to the full left when working on the right side and to the full right when working on the left side…I say this so you can turn the wheels to full lock before jacking up your truck (if your like me you will have only one when off the ground so turn the wheels before you raise the wheel so the position of the jack is not compromised by vehicle movement when turning the wheels after jacking. Perfect fit, easy install. No problems whatsoever, truck stops on a dime, clean and no dust. The original pads had 85K miles on them with some pad left so I’m hoping to get 100k out of these. Comes with the clips, but no grease. Put a little brake grease around the edges of the pads where they will touch the clips and they’ll be silent. Make sure to clean the caliper bracket real good with some brake cleaner or a wire brush before putting the new clips on.
I bought these over the lesser-priced pads from ACD because these are the factory install, not the discount version. Box said made in Mexico, but the quality seemed top notch regardless. Very happy with purchase.

So far these have worked well on my 08 GMC Sierra. I honestly question if these are truly AC delco pads or not. I’ve never seen them come with the clips loose in the box, and the box itself looks like it could be a knockoff. I did have one issue with the clips rubbing on the shield on one side after installation that I had to correct. All that being said, the pads do work as expected. They sop well and are quite. Overall I am happy with their performance, and so far I would say I would buy them again.

I replaced these on a 2014 Chevy Silverado that had 107k mile on the original brake pads. I figured if the owner got 107k miles on the factory pads, why the heck would I ever suggest anything else? These are the front pads that take the bulk of the truck’s stopping power. And this is a work truck handling heavy loads. You would be foolish to go with an aftermarket “direct fit” no name brake pad on such a vital component. This is one area you want to stick with true OEM. And as with most things, Amazon’s price beats all. You can not get these from a dealer at this price. Period. And it’s the exact same item.
I paired these with the AC Delco “Pro Line” replacement rotors – model #: 18A1705. The braking capabilities are tremendous. Owner is very happy. Attached is a photo comparing the amount of pad left after 107k mile next to the new ones.
