Dealership and local mechanic wanted to bend me over the barrel so I went to my trusty Amazon app and found this one. Direct fit and 20 minutes of my time and my 03 Suburban is running like new! In other words, it fixed my problem and I saved a lot of money.. Don’t even think about it because this TB works…

Installed this on my truck in February 2022 after receiving multiple throttle codes such as P1515, P1516, P2135 etc. About 8 months after installing the new throttle body all the codes came back. I narrowed it down to the throttle position sensor being faulty. I’ve since replaced the throttle body again with a DORMAN 97716, all the codes are gone and the truck is running perfect.
DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT TO DO IT ALL AGAIN IN A FEW MONTHS.

On Amazon it says it won’t fit a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 but it was an exact match and all codes that were for the throttle body disappeared. I haven’t had any trouble with it and it doesn’t have any lag. Install is simple and the instructions for resetting idle was on the money at least for my truck.

I tried 2 throttle bodies from a different brand and couldn’t get rid of the P1516 code. Did all the relearn procedures but had to clear the codes once or twice after first starting up then it ran ok until I had to turn it off again. Installed this one that actually came with relearning instructions (no more youtube searching 🙂 and it’s running great again with no error codes. This one even came with a new gasket. Twice the money but half the hassle. I really don’t want to get this good at changing throttle bodies.

Stranded in Wisconsin –
Bought to replace a failing original throttle body on a 2003 Escalade. Solved our P1516 check engine code and worked great for 6 months. Then we started getting intermittent P2135 codes indicating problems with something in the throttle position sensor circuit. I assumed it was a wiring problem as the unit was basically brand new, and replacing the accelerator peddle sensor didn’t solve the problem. Guess again, it left our family with a vehicle that would barely run 1/2 way home on a 500 mile road trip. I was able to limp to an auto parts store and swap it out with new one in the parking lot. Ran like a champ after that, so I can say with confidence the throttle position sensor had failed at just over 7 months from installing. So if you want to be stranded on the side of the road in no time at all buy this one.

I bought a car with an LQ9 swap and the stock throttle body was acting up after it had probably over 165k miles. Hitachi is a well known and respected electronic and automotive parts brand, so I thought it was a no-brainer to buy a new throttle body from them, after seeing that GM/Delco brand had mixed reviews. Wrong. The car worked fine for about a year (it’s a nice day car, not a daily driver, so I didn’t put a ton of miles on it). The second driving season, the car would VERY intermittently lose all throttle pedal, idle high and sounded like it had a misfire. The CEL came on with code P1516. I’d have to pull the car over to the side of the road and turn the engine off for a minute or two, then turning it back on would usually fix it. This continued into the third year and only got more and more frequent. It usually would happen when the engine was cold and experiencing a high vacuum load, like going down a steep hill in a low gear. The more frequent it happened, the harder it would be to restart the car without the issue. By the end of last year, the car was undrivable and I couldn’t get it out of the garage. The TB motor also would make a very strange grinding/electrical arching sort of noise with the ignition on and the engine off.
Decided to buy a new GM TB and all is well again (so far). My good friend who is a mechanic and owned multiple LS-based vehicles said to stick with OEM for the engine electrics, since they tend to be finicky about the electrics according to him. The GM unit did not require the relearning procedure and made no weird noises like the Hitachi did.
My Hitachi TB had probably around 2,500 miles on it after three years, and I’m beyond disappointed in this product. Skip this to save yourself the headache and just buy a new GM/Delco unit

Fit as expected on my 2005 Chevy Avalanche. This was the first time he switched out after 370k miles. Was dying after check engine light went on with a couple throttle codes. Took it to my mechanic who wanted to charge $750. Watches a video on YouTube, bought this part and it took me all of 25 minutes to switch out. Had relearn instructions in box as well as gasket seal. Happy customer. Time will tell but ran well on a test tune and idled perfect for over 10 minutes in park in my driveway.

Put this throttle body in to fix my “reduced engine power” in a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500. It went in just like it should and ran great for about 9 months. The reduced engine power is back on and I’ve tried cleaning the mass airflow sensor, the throttle body, and I replaced the throttle position sensor connector. No luck. I’ll probably buy and genuine GM TB this time.
