My car’s check engine light had been on forever. Finally it’s time to do emissions and they wouldn’t even do it with the check engine light on. I didn’t wanna spend any money so I checked the problem myself with a borrowed code reader. And after some research I was fairly positive that the problem was the Fuel Sensor. Unfortunately my Honda Accord 2002 is ULEV, which requires the much more expensive type. The dealer quoted me $400+ for the part. no freaking way!!! After another intense research on the web, I finally found the Denso 234-9014, $129.95, it was a no brainer. Got it in a week. Watched an youtube video on how to change the fuel sensor, got the appropriate wrench from Autozone ($10). And installed it myself in 5 MINUTES. It was so freakn easy!!! Crossed my fingers and turned the engine on, the check engine was OFF!!! I was happy as hell. Went to emission test again and PASSED with flying colors. Did all this for under $150. I was pretty proud of myself. And thank God for this Denso part and Amazon selling it. This was 3 months ago and no issues, my car drives great and the check engine light never came back on.
I vouch for this product and strongly recommend it for the type of cars it’s compatible with.

Please make sure your trim is a ULEV model before purchasing any of the other sensors for the 1998-2002 Honda Accords with an F23A1 engine. I first got the wrong upstream sensor, which it states it was for my engine, but not for ULEV. The confusing part is that ULEV uses the Air Fuel Ratio Sensor which is a completely different thing apparently. Another trick I found out, is to tell the difference between which sensor you need is on the exhaust manifold. If the sensor is on the side, pointing towards the passenger side, it’s not the ULEV model. If it’s at the center, it’s ULEV.
Once I used this sensor, everything works as it should and I no longer had the CEL come back on.

It is labelled as a 234-9014, but what arrived was a 234-9015.
Denso 234-9015 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor
The wires are covered in a black sheath and are 15 inches long (wires only), but other than that, the head looks exactly the way it does in CJB’s review (aka the 234-9015).
I have 2001 Honda Accord EX 2.4L with engine F23A4 (ULEV).
The 234-9015 will get rid of the codes P1166 and P1167 if that’s all you want, but it is inaccurately described in the picture.
If you order it, you will notice the head will not match your older oxygen sensor (mine is a DU2 Denso 192400-1020).
The sensor I received was a Denso with a core number of 3410.

In his comment he says the 234-9014 has a core number of 3430, but the 234-9015 has a core number of 3410.
You can get this if all you want is for the codes to disappear; otherwise for an accurate part, I’d look elsewhere.
Returning the item was the one of the least painful experiences I’ve gone through, so if you want to order it and see for yourself, returning it is a piece of cake.

Since I like reviews that simply focus on the facts instead of bias and opinion, I thought I would contribute by reviewing the way I would have found most helpful.
My car’s check engine light went on so I plugged in my BlueDriver OBD2 interface and found that the error codes P1166 and P1167 had been generated. After researching/reading other people’s experience with these codes, I had found that my specific Honda is finicky when it comes to the brand of Air/Fuel ratio sensor used to resolve this problem. That being the case, I decided to go with Denso after learning that they made the original equipment part for Honda. I went to a local auto parts store and they wanted $230 for this sensor!!! I also checked rockauto.com in an effort to find the best price for this part but I decided to buy mine through Amazon to make certain that I was getting a genuine Denso part and because I have a prime account. When the part arrived (came with everything needed except the 7/8” box-end wrench), I installed the sensor using the included anti-seize and cleared the codes with my OBD2 interface. Everything worked beautifully and the car drives so much better now!
