John Q. Customer –
There are some aftermarket filters available that are a little bit cheaper. Many don’t come with the foam pre-filter, so you would have to find one and add that to the cost. I usually prefer OEM filters. The price was reasonable, especially when you consider that it is the complete solution with the pre-filter. Proper fit and function.

direct replacement, at a good value.

at least 5 dollars cheaper than Walmart- and it’s original Briggs not some aftermarket Chinese knockoff. My engine runs smoother now, glad I bought it. My tractor is a 1995 MTD 17.5 hp Twin- I change oil every 3 mowings I mow 3 acres. You will extend the life of this engine if you change the oil often, my 19 year old MTD is proof. It only uses a small amount oil after each mowing just to the add oil line, not bad for a engine this old. Keep new air filter, spark plugs, and blades sharp, and you can make things last and last. Briggs is a great engine when cared for.

Fits exact , just like the OME DID

I could have bought a china generic for about half the price but wanted an actual briggs air filter for an old riding mower we are trying to get back in service. Arrived next day which was great and price was reasonable. Fits just like the original because it is an original.

I use ammonia to clean the prefilter mid-season (on the tractor/mower) and soap and water, let it dry and then re-oil (my tractor calls for that. Doing this carefully I get at least five years (10 cleanings) out of one of these air-filter pre-cleaner kits and then replace it. Just mentioning this since the tractor really runs better when the pre-filter is cleaned. I mow about two acres about 25 times/summer and in the drier weather the mower can really kick up lots of dirt/dust and fine debris over the ‘less green’ (lol) portions of the ‘lawn’ so cleaning that pre-filter really makes the tractor run better and this replacement pack is an essential maintenance item.

Higher quality than cheaper ones I had been getting. Should last a season plus. I was worried, after reading reviews here, that it would come without the prefilter. It does come with both parts. I can only assume that some have received the wrong item due to picker error, as the packaging is similar with or without filter.

Very easy to install, great value for the money.
Ordered for a craftsman riding mower with a Briggs & Stratton I/C platinum 20hp turbo cool motor
Phelps, electronics hobbyist –
Exact fit because it’s OEM.
Buying knockoffs that don’t fit is a waste of money.
