    My husband was skeptical of the air vent attachment type of car mounts because we’ve tried a few bad ones before, but this one attaches really well and very firmly. Just make sure you turn the back knob all the way to the left, put in air vent, then all the way to the right and watch the back orange latch latch on. Once secure, it’s not going anywhere.

    This WILL work with different types of (strong) phone rings and will NOT pull your phone ring off your phone (note: ONLY if you have a good strong magnet phone rings.) The magnet is very strong, which is what you want because who wants their phone falling off while driving. So it will not work if you have a weak phone ring. You need one that is even stronger than the car mount. We really liked this particular phone car mount because it’s sturdy. So I probably ordered 8 different phone rings to test with the car mount and luckily the phone rings that we liked and found the most sturdy worked really well with this Syncwire car mount. (More details below about what phone rings work)

    My husband and I just upgraded to the new iPhone 16 pro and pro max (from iPhone 12pro and iPhone XS Max). With our old phones, we’ve always used the stick-on Syncwire phone rings which worked great, and we’ve paired it with a smaller magnet air vent car mount from a different company…which from time to time would either 1) mount fall off our vent , or 2) magnet is not strong enough that our phones would fall off the car mount (not sure if it’s the car mount thats not strong enough, or the phone ring not strong enough, or both)….we never invested in another one.

    So with the new iphones being MagSafe, we were excited to upgrade all of our accessories. We absolutely LOVE this syncwire car mount (we also have this same exact
    car mount in Dashboard mounting stick-on version). Both works equally well.

    Which MagSafe phone rings it worked well with:
    I ordered different MagSafe phone rings for testing. My most important must haves are that …
    1) our MagSafe phone ring (must be duo sided magnet) must first be super strong/sturdy on MagSafe phone case
    2) our MagSafe car mount needs to be super strong/ sturdy against our phone ring.
    3) then the ultimate test is when I pull my phone + attached phone ring away from the car mount…my phone ring DOES NOT DETACH from my phone and get stuck to the car mount. Meaning, both has to be strong on its own, but the car mount magnet CANNOT be stronger than my phone magnet.

    It is very difficult to find a good match, especially when my husband and I use 2 different types of phone rings. While I wanted a MagSafe popsocket. He wanted a true metal ring holder that also allows the phone to stands well both vertically and horizontally. He ended up with a syncwire brand phone ring (white one in photo) that is super strong against the phone but also works perfectly with the car mount. The best part (and hardest part to find) is that I am able to use my popsocket on the same car mount. Again, I do not have a regular stick-on popsocket, but a MagSafe popsocket (see photo). The MagSafe ring of my popsocket fits perfectly on the car mount magnet ring, and the popsocket itself sits perfectly into the opening.

    I’d give the 5 star, but the hooks doesn’t attach properly to the vent, so it needs to be tightened often.but overall, good product.

    My phone stays on really well with MagSafe compatibility which I really like because it’s easy to use. It can be swiveled up and down or to the sides so placing your phone wherever you want is a breeze. Unfortunately, the part that you twist to tighten the whole unit on the air vents keeps coming loose on its own and it can get a bit annoying having to constantly adjust it and re-tighten. Idk if mine is just faulty or if this is normal but I gave it three stars because it comes loose almost every other day. I might have to switch it out and get something better.

    My 2014 Hyundai Azera has a weirdly shaped/angled vent, like many Hyundais from this time period. This is the only mount I could find that contorts in a way that works with the vent. Additionally, the build quality is great and the magnet is strong. I’m glad someone has made a mount that has greater flexibility for weirdly shaped/angled vents.
