I gave this amp a 5 star because it works perfect for the set up i wanted and the amp is performing good, just as expected. Now, it is true that the amp is not rated correctly in wattage but for the price you should expect as such. But I knew exactly what I was buying so there is no complaints with this amp from me. I tested for a few days and it works well, no issues, handles heat very well and is a very sturdy amp. I wanted something simple that adds bass to my system so I paired this amp with a cheap boss 10″ sub in a sealed box in my truck and for me, it sounds great. So if your looking to add some nice bass to your system then this amp is not a bad choice at all. If your looking for something to power your 2 12″ subs, probably not the right choice for you. All in all great amp if your looking for something simple, just a little tip, I have a ford ranger and you really need to make sure you find a good ground, i did and this amp does not overheat at all, also, i have this set up in my extended cab in my ranger so putting a set up like this in a trunk of a car may underwhelm, it all just depends on how much bass your looking for, i was on the fence about buying this amp but I’m really happy with it and glad I did. Hope this review helps.

I purchased the R1100 last week and about half an hour later was emailed to say they did not have it in stock but could send the R1600 for no extra charge. So although i cant speak for the quality of the R1100, i can give a shining review for the R1600.
Package arrived earlier than expected and immediately on opening it you could tell it was well made. Its currently hooked up to a single 400w 4ohm sub and it sounds fantastic (RMS of the amp is 350/4ohm). The remote input thingy is also really useful so you’re not constantly deafening yourself.
Hopefully it’s durable enough to last a few years but so far I’ve been nothing but impressed.

For the price this is the best deal I’ve seen. 66 bucks shipped for the amp and wires. I installed it in about 2 hours, hardest part was pulling up the panels and getting the wires through. The rest of the wiring was painless, they give u everything you need. I would highly recommend the add a circuit for tapping in to the fuse block. No wire splicing, super easy to take out later and worked well for me.
About the amps performance: I hooked it up to a single 10 inch kicker cvr (Silver, older model) recommended for 400 max rms. I’m running this amp at 4 ohms, not 2. What I’ve found is that I have the setup that is recommended for longevity and health of the sub system. The amp is over powered for the sub, so I have to turn the amp down some, reducing the work load of the amp, and it’s in 4 ohm so that dramatically reduces the workload from the start. The subwoofer would become distorted at high levels so I turned down the output and now I’ve found the sweet spot where it hits really hard but also clean tones. I haven’t installed the remote control yet, don’t think I’d really use it. It does work but I think I’d just rather have the bass up all the time, maybe later I’ll get tired of it and want the quick adjustment feature. I’ve played really loud music for almost an hour with a lot of bass and gone to the trunk to check how hot it’s getting and it’s barely warm. Very impressed with the setup.
I think getting a quality subwoofer, something that can handle all the watts you’re throwing at it well is more important than the amp being super accurate and high quality. Time will tell how this amp holds up but so far it’s been a great fit for 1 10 inch at 4 ohms. And 2 ohms I’d be willing to bet it would push 2 subwoofers well.
The size of the amp made it easy to screw to the back of the 10 inch subwoofer box. It’s made for a pretty clean install. Then I made an L bracket and screwed in to the floor of the trunk and the box, it doesn’t move at all when driving.
Keeping the trunk space usable was very important to me, so a little 10 is very noticeable, shakes mirrors, u hear it outside the car some, and is a great addition to my 2012 civic which has a loud factory setup, yet it doesn’t take up too much room in the trunk so it’s the best of both worlds in my eyes.
Oh one note, the amp barely bumps at all with the bass boost option turned off. But once I turn it on it claims an 18db boost and it really comes alive. I tapped in to the rear speakers high outputs for my speaker input. Made it easy to run less wires(no rcas) and I didn’t have to pull the dash apart to get to the back of the head unit. The amp gets a crystal clear signal and handles the high output levels very well.

I’ve had this boss amp in my car for 9months now and I’ve had no problems. Sounds great with my two soundstage 500rms x 2 10inch subs. Just gotta make sure you have the bass turned down on the amp so you don’t blow your subs cuz I have lol also in the winter in Alberta’s cold be sure to warm up your car and not just crank up your amp to 11 in the cold and give it time to warm up and this will keep your amp happy for years to come. Fyi this is the second boss amp I’ve owned in two different vehicles and no issues yet.

Unfortunately I can’t give my opinion on “This” most recently RM1100D (pictures) because when it arrived (on time) I opened the box and immediately noticed there was no remote subwoofer control knob in the box? In spite of the missing part I intended to keep the amp anyway (was going to run this amp on full range so knob was kind of irrelevant ) but after completely unpacking everything I noticed the external 30amp fuse was partially broken off in its holder it became obvious this amp was most likely returned already or someone in Boss “packaging” tampered with it, either way I returned it and ordered a different Boss amp (Elite series)
I have or had more than a few Boss amps including the RM1100D and other Riot series amps, and yes I’m aware of the Boss “exaggerated” numbers game, i’ve seen the unimpressive internal motherboard with small single magnets etc etc… Boss amps are generally durable and last….moreover MY EARS don’t lie and Boss measures up! No it’s not a RF Punch or JD1000…. but, for $80 sometimes less The RM1100D riot is a great amp!
