This rear view mirror with cell phone holder is perfect for my truck while I’m driving it sits perfectly under my mirror no blind spots and makes it easy to be hands free while driving to mange and answer phone calls.

I tested 3 rear view mirror mounts before a recent road trip, and, to be honest, none of them really lived up to my hopes. While this one is comprised of mostly metal components, it ironically didn’t feel super sturdy. But, that isn’t my problem with it. The main issue with this one is that not only does it hang down the furthest, thus taking up the most space from your visibility (if that makes sense), it also looks very…industrial. Men may not mind so much, and they may like it, in fact, but for me it was kind of a deal-breaker. Which was a real bummer because it WAS the most functional of the three I tried.
This one has the most adjustment capability. You can pretty much angle it almost any way you wish, and you can easily turn the mount so that your phone is facing out the windshield. It probably is the most likely to fit any size rearview mirror, too. And that’s where MY grip with it can become someone else’s main positive….If you have a big, bulky mirror, you’re going to need this type.
Another con, though, is that due to the design of super adjustable arms that hold the mount to the mirror, there is a bit too much give/movement in the whole thing, which allows the arm that hold the phone cradle to move a bit, at least when in the vertical position (when you have the cradle aligned up towards your ceiling, off to the side of the mirror). This is a somewhat minor gripe, and it may exist less the bigger your mirror is (I’m thinking that perhaps if the arms are more stretched out on your mirror, then the springs will have less give…?)
I feel bad removing a star for things that bother ME, when they may be positives for someone else, but…they might also be deal-breakers for someone else as well. For whatever it’s worth, I went with the cheapest of the 3 that I tried since it was the most aesthetically pleasing, despite having much less angle adjustment capacity.

Don’t buy this. It’s terrible. The position of the arms is such that they will never all have a good grasp on the mirror and thus will never be secure.

This was a little bit tricky to put around my rearview mirror but was able to get it eventually. You have alot of different joints that can move freely allowing for a lot of viewing angles. This is also out of your vision making it safe while driving by. The joints tightened well so it’s very sturdy once you find a good spot. You can put your phone in and remove with just one hand making it super convenient! And of course you can rotate your phone to vertical or horizontal with ease. Overall great mount for mirror!

This is a really unique phone holder and it took me a minute to get used to it. I’m very picky about not letting my phone distract me while driving, but at the same time, I don’t want to be distracted looking for my phone for GPS maps.
This holder is extraordinarily sturdy and holds the phone well. I feel like it is durable, and should last for some time.
One thing I really like is that it gives the camera so much of a better view should I need to video my trip for any reason. This is the first cellphone holder I’ve had that allows me to do this and to do it so easily.
Finally, I like this holder because it doesn’t use any adhesive. I’ve not had good luck with those others, so this is a welcome change.

The design of this phone holder makes for a very challenging experience. At first, I thought I simply lacked enough patience for it. But then, it occurred to me that there are way too many options on the marketplace for me to have to spend an inordinate amount of time figuring out how to use a product. I read and read the poor instructions, and then attempted to utilize this item and just was not successful. I suspect I’d have more success if I spent enough time with it, but is that really necessary? Why should I be the one to overcome a complicated design? I would imagine that it depends on the car, style and size of the mirror to which it would be attached in order to achieve a successful attachment to a rear view mirror. But it is supposed to be a universal fit, isn’t it?

While the concept is good, the holder is too heavy and makes the rear view mirror sag. It doesn’t stay steady while driving, which defeats the purpose.

I didn’t realize how sturdy this device was until I received it. It is mostly metal. Assembling it out of the box was completely intuitive and it attached to my rearview mirror easily and firmly. In fact I think if I accidentally knocked this device and it didn’t just turn it, my rearview mirror might break before this device would. The phone holder is the only all plastic part, but it’s a nice design holding my phone securely yet still allowing easy removal. I had purchased and returned one of these devices before which was far less well built than this. This one is a keeper!
