It does what its suppose to do, just not as good as they make it seem. The suction is very good, but doesn’t come off easy or clean. Make sure when you put it on your windshield or dash its somewhere you are satisfied with bc its a pain in the a** to get off bc when you go get it off, it leaves quite a bit of residue behind. The arm is very thick and sturdy, and the extra base does help but its the same way, once its there you dont want to remove it bc its not as sticky the 2nd time and also leaves sticky residue behind. Maybe mine was a bad batch or something, but im dreading the day I have to remove it and clean the windshield bc once I remove it, I dont think it will be usable again. I moved it once and it was a pain to clean up and almost didn’t attach it back. Its good if you dont mind the cleanup when u decide to move the location or remove it at all.

Suction works great on this. It has a sticky substance that lasts but really needs to be used for one time suction and not moved around like I am using it. Still works great and used it all week.

Lots of options to set this up to work for almost any dash. My Acura has a textured dash with few flat spots so mounting was limited. Wound up mounting the suction above the center screen where it is mostly flat but not fully and very textured. Suction is on ridiculously strong.
Adhesive on the arm mount didn’t work on my dash, but to its credit, I haven’t found anything to stick to that part of my dash. Even using gorilla’s heaviest duty double sided tape doesn’t stick well but works ok enough to keep it steady.

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT AND ITS PERFORMANCE. IT PERFECTLY FITS MY REQUIREMENT AND ITS THE BEST THAT I WANTED – WITH THE LONG ARM THATS NECESSARY THAT ONLY A COUPLE HAVE IN THE MARKET. Perfect! Saved me money and trouble. Have an old van with no Bluetooth, so needed a cellphone holder that would sit high enough for the microphone to pick up my voice.
However, didn’t want to attach anything to windshield. Thought I was going to have to buy a center console AND a cupholding-type cellphone holder, but now, there’s no need.
Was able to suction firmly to the dashboard, on first try, without using the adhesive. Been using for over a month with no problem.

So far, this cell phone mount is great! I needed something that would hold my cell phone securely, attach to my (slightly curved and pebbled) dashboard, not obscure my vision while driving, and not block any air vents. I’ve been using this mount for two months now and have had no problems with slippage, rattling, security, or adhesion: the mount grips my phone tightly (even in its otterbox case) and is easily adjusted for vertical or horizontal orientation, and the suction cup is holding firm to my dash. The placement of the little stabilizer piece is essential to hold the gooseneck arm steady and prevent rattling or excessive shaking; I had to reposition it twice during installation, but once I got it right it was excellent. Installation takes a bit of time – if you’re mounting it on your dash, you need to wait 24 hrs to allow the sticker to adhere to the dash before attaching the suction cup – but the resulting stability is worth the time. My phone can be plugged in while mounted, which is great for longer roadtrips or when my battery is low. I haven’t yet driven on really rough country roads with this mount, but it’s holding steady over the many nasty potholes that pepper my neighbourhood streets, and I’d feel confident recommending it to people who plan to use it mainly in cities or on paved roads. None of the parts seem flimsy or poorly fitted, and I’m particularly a fan of the adjustable ball joint connecting the phone holder to the gooseneck arm, which allows me to position my phone screen at whatever angle I like. We’ll see how it holds up through the winter and in more punishing road conditions, but to date I’m very pleased with the quality of this mount, especially for the price.

TLDR for those of you who don’t want to read several paragraphs; use the electrostatic film provided in the package, then mount it, and use the support piece to keep the bar stable.
Extended review:
I have it mounted in my GMC Sierra. You have to use the electrostatic film provided, then apply the suction cup to the film rather than straight to the windshield. Helps keep it from falling off.
The articulating rod is really stiff so it’s not something you can adjust while driving if you don’t like the angle. Make sure you like how it is sitting before you start driving.
There is a small support piece that attaches to the articulating rod (I have my support piece attached to the dash, though you can probably also attach that piece to the windshield too) to stabilize it and keep it from bouncing around while you drive. That piece is VITAL. This mount will not work well without that stabilzing piece.
The holster for the phone itself is pretty good. You open the sides of the holster with a button on the back, and then squeeze the sides tight to your phone while it sits on the bottom part. And just hit the button to open it again and take your phone. I have not had it fall out at all.
Overall a pretty good mount when you actually follow the intructions and use that stabilizing piece.
