La transmision me indicaba falla (baja presion) y como a la semana de estar trabajando me dejo de fallar, ya tenia como medio año con la falla.

I’m not usually a fan of transmission fluid treatments, never have been. Transmissions are the most complex and precision pieces of mechanical wizardry on a vehicle, and they are rather particular of what you feed them. I’ve always used strait ATF of the proper type and a quality brand with regular fluid and filter changes. I decided to try this stuff for a couple of reasons. One I just bought a used 3/4 ton with around 160,000 miles on it with the original transmission. It has been serviced as the fluid looks good, but it’s a little lazy on shifts and just not a smooth as it should be. I read a ton of reviews before pulling the trigger on this and as they were almost universally positive, I figured it could not hurt. I bought the truck right, and at that mileage on a hauling truck, if I nuke a transmission, I’ll put one in. I would also trust a Lucas Oil product before any others as I have always had extremely good success with everything Lucas and they do one thing, they make oils and additives, meaning they know what they are doing.
I did a complete fluid flush and filter change. This was made easy since the truck has a aux cooler in the front, just pop the QD lines off and add some 3′ hoses (since you cannot be certain of which is supply and return, less risk of mess) into a 5 gal bucket. 4 gallons of Dexron 6 later and we have a transmission full of fresh fluid. I have not yet driven the truck any distance real, but after adding the treatment and letting it get all mixed into the system, I can already tell that things feel better, it goes into gear faster and smoother for sure. I expect this will continue to improve as I drive more and the additive continues to permeate the system.
Update:
I have to admit, the skeptic in me has been proven wrong with this stuff. I’ve put over 1,000 miles on the truck since flushing the transmission and adding this treatment. Most of this driving has been towing a trailer too. All of the shifts are much firmer than they were before, the 2-3 shift used to be very lazy but now it’s snappy, like it should be. Down-shifts and up-shifts are all feeling better. Does not feel like a tranny with 160,000 miles on it at all. I will be adding this stuff at every fluid change, which I do far more often than the manual says.
The manual says 100,000 miles for transmission servicing, with Dexron 3, it’s more like 30,000 miles max in my experience if you want to have a transmission left at 100k. With Dexron 6, probably more like 50,000-60,000 miles or so, not positive since this is the first go round with Dexron 6 in one of my vehicles. Towing a lot always decreases the fluid life, so best advice I can give is to monitor the fluid condition carefully, and change it when you have any significant darkening and before it starts to burn. Fluid isn’t cheap anymore, but it’s a lot cheaper than a transmission…
This stuff will not fix a transmission with a serious issue, treatments cannot fox broken parts or excessive wear. What this stuff does do is recondition seals and friction discs, this will fix minor slippage due to age and normal wear, it will also fix the lazy shifts caused by worn friction discs. For the price, it’s certainly worth a shot, but don’t knock it because it does not help you, this is designed to help transmissions that are still fully functional.
Update 2:
7,500 miles in and things are still smooth as silk.
Update 3:
10,000+ miles in and the transmission feels almost a smooth and solid as it did when new (I did not have this truck new, but I’ve driven a lot of them with varying mileage). Fluid is still bright red and not showing any signs of breakdown, which is what I’d expect at this point. Like I said earlier, I’m not a fan of most pour in “fixes”, but this one really does work, assuming your transmission is still in working order. Even if it does nothing, it’s a cheap attempt.

honestly I wasn’t expecting much but the difference exceeded my expectations

I have purchased this transmission treatment in the past for another care I owned. The transmission was really jerky when it shifted and with the model of car I had was known for having terrible transmission problems. I drove the car for 100k miles and only added 2 bottles. No problems with shifting. Of course you have to drive decent also. No ramming and jamming the trans. Very great product and highly recommend.

I add a little to the transmission when the 1-2 shift gets harsh. It seems to free up the 1-2 shift valve.

a really brilliant additive , my 2006 Volvo was having gear changing problems that a fluid change made no improvement on , but adding this made all gear shifts so much smoother with no nasty surprises

Best $12 you will ever spend in your whole life.
I am NOT a believer in gimmicky auto products, but if you really do your research, you can find a few products out there that actually work and do good for your car. This is one of those products.
It is great stuff. I have a Ford Expedition that was starting to shift hard at around 140,000 miles. It would make a “thunk” before downshifting. I was beginning to worry about a transmission rebuild. This product quieted my transmission and made it shift like new… seriously.
The bottle says you can add to transmission without draining any fluid out… don’t do that. On a big truck like mine with a larger fluid capacity, it probably would not harm anything, but on a smaller car, adding 20 ounces of extra fluid could possibly blow gaskets, seals, solenoids, etc.
Buy a hand siphon pump and siphon out 20oz’s of fluid first, just to be safe.
I took it out through the transmission dipstick tube.
Also, I should note that at first it seemed like there was no change at all. It took around 100 miles for it to start to do it’s thing, and slowly I started to notice the transmission shifting much more smoothly, no shift noise, and my transmission even runs cooler than before, which makes the engine run cooler. I read some reviews that said it affected their gas mileage (both positively/negatively). There was no noticeable change in my gas mileage.
I would absolutely recommend this for any transmission that is beginning to “show it’s age” – i.e. shifting hard, running hot, starting to whine at higher RPM’s.
If your transmission is slipping or grinding, this product is not for you, try Lucas Trans-Fix instead. I also use Lucas Oil stabilizer in my engine (and rear diff.), Lucas Synthetic Gear Oil in my rear differential, and Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricator in my gas. I have had some of these products recommended to me by ASE Certified Mechanics, and they use them in their own cars too.
I don’t work for Lucas, and I wasn’t paid or offered anything for this review. I just work on a lot of cars and motorcycles, and I really like their products. Hope it works for you.
