stainless steel brake lines not direct fit. in fact you have to change things around. cut and use old parts from the old rubber brake lines to hold the wheel sensors on. one hose would not screw on the EOM GM brake line.
these brake lines will work fine.

The quality of this brake line seems like it should cost around $35 at walmrt
Its end connectors seem extremely cheep and are designed for a more universal fit .
There is a reason why factory hoses do not use a round connection end and use block type end to keep them from moving around and loosening up and are also stronger this way

To be honest i am very disappointed with this item and am complexed at the positive reviews .

    UPDATE; =====================================================================================================

first off these are not that great and seem like they should cost around $35 like a Chinese knock off compared to the brake lines i using. yes these do work but build quality is questionable, one of them would not even fit the GM brake screw. I spent hours trying, loosing $20 in gm brake fluid and making a mess. I could not get it to screw on the GM brake line no matter what. the GM OEM hose and the hose i replaced this item with fit like a glove. the hardware that comes with these including the end connectors are cheep and nothing direct fit and aluminum washers. also all the modifications required for these hoses is disappointing. this is also not for active brakes, you can use them though the brake line from the chasse to the rear diff is different, there are separate lines for each brake with active a brake system. this set just comes with one line that will not fit the active brake system, so you would still have the old rubber brake hose there. though converting just 4 hoses over to stainless is still a large improvement. All the OEM hoses hoses in the engine compartment coming from master cylinder in my truck are stainless braid from the GM factory

if you want the best you can do. 5-layer design, Stainless braid , Teflon hose and Kevlar braid ( kevlar is use to make bullet proof items, much better then just the braided steel lines ) they are as close you can get to EOM stock direct fit no modifications, I went with this SBH6057 for a 2003 Yukon xl, though there also not for active brake systems there the only ones that are direct fit like OEM and the quality is top notch. I going to contact them see if they have or can make me up some hoses for the active brakes middle hoses, if not there is another company that does, though very expensive hundreds for the hole set and there still not even near the quality of SBH6057, I hope I can get just hoses I need and not the hole set since I going to have to replace the OE stainless lines are to rusted with only 2 inches of room to work with, I just would have to replace everything,

I have did this before on my plow truck, its brakes lines in the rear rusted out and all brake fliud ran dry in the middle of the road on a hill in the middle of a snow storm then it hailed and it rained at 3am in freezing temps with just a flashlight I was socking wet and freezing and had frost bite by the time I finished even with brakes to warm up, I couldn’t feel my feet and legs and fingers for a over a week. I had to replace the eom stainless from front to the rear it was so rusted it would just fall apart , good thing i had most parts to do that and friends to bring me what i didn’t have , just the memory of that and to do it again no thank you. even though it summer and a newer truck and worth it eventually i may

SBH6057 screwed on just like the OEM where this set would not, they even have the notches and use the same clips to fit in the GM holder , looks like they used real GM connectors or reproductions and come with copper washers, you get what you pay for, there more money about $40-$90 more then these depending where you buy them from. I paid $180. they do have models to cover a wide range of vehicles including imports

I not trying advertise these brake hoses only cause i was so disappointed and found it very hard and long time to find what i was looking for i just trying to help. For a professional look and top quality over EOM product the StopFlex Brake Hoses much better. stanless braid brake hoses should last the life of the vehicle,
if you consider how much better stopflex are then these, $40+ is not really that much more for something that is much better and looks factory and last the life of the vehicle.

Teflon PTFE core (liner) which is wrapped first in a Kevlar braid, followed by an elastomer barrier and then it’s strengthened further by the outer stainless steel braid. a final coat of clear vinyl and all the connectors, hardware, in my case are same as GM stock OEM.

In other words if you put the SBH6057 next to the original OEM gm hoses aside from the rubber hose that gm uses there identical

one more thing these are not the same as pictured at amazon also there thicker then stopflex even though stopflex is 5 ply.

Do you self a favor check out the stopflex brand of brake hoses you wont regret it and it will save you tons of install time since stopflex are direct fit, I don’t think there is a better quality brake hose on the consumer market .

  2. Dale Vandenhoek

Got the part I ordered on time. Very happy.

  3. 2001 Suburban

Does not fit Suburban 2500 even though Amazon says it does! The correct part number is the Russell 672440 Silverado 2500/3500 kit at http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DSWB46?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 I was smart enough to order both kits at the same time and now I will return this kit.

I’m still giving 5 stars because the product really improves the braking feel. After the first few mm of travel the pedal becomes MUCH firmer than stock and compresses very little.

  4. SMc

Beware! These DO NOT fit a 3/4 ton vehicle (K2500), although the Amazon site states they do. By the time I found this out (after talking to Russell direct) I was no longer allowed to return them.

  5. Stagr.Lee

I installed these on my 2004 Z71 4×4 Tahoe. The construction looks and feels to be top notch from Edelbrock/Russell. Its a messy job to do. I put old earplugs in the lines to slow the drip of brake fluid while I was tightening the nuts. Get a good Snap-on or GearWrench 14mm flare nut wrench. My Craftsman flare nut wrench got thrown in the trash (it bends open and starts rounding brake line nuts).

Pedal feel is crisp and feels more instantaneous. Before replacement there was a lag. Did this job at 123k miles and the only symptom I was trying to treat was a gray dusty residue in the master cylinder reservoir and thought it might be coming from the inside of the original brake lines. The originals were plenty pliable with no cracks or blisters anywhere. Bleeding the brakes got the gray dust out but it returned in a few weeks so out came the stock lines and the stainless lines were installed.

I’d recommend this part though its not meant to be used with “Stabilitrak” electronic traction control. It comes with 5 lines, Stabilitrak trucks need six lines. I don’t think 4×4’s with locking differentials came with Stabilitrak so this bolted up great on my truck. I would have given this 5 stars except the brake lines do not follow the stock path for the lines (under instead of over the upper control arms). I would have gladly paid $20-$30 more for lines that followed the stock route.

  6. C Henkel

Awesome set of braided stainless brake lines for my 2002 chevy avalanche. They fit perfectly despite what the descriptions says they will fit. The truck is basically a big tahoe or a small suburban and it turns out that many parts are the same, including the brake hoses. They look great and install was a breeze

  7. Randall L Howell

Delivered on time, the brake hoses fit fine. Did help the spongey feel to improve the brakes on my 2002 Suburban. Very happy with this product.

  8. Pikey

this fit my 2005 yukon xl 4×4 1500 well. I read some reviews where people said that the front lines were too short. The directions say to route them differently than the stock lines. Sure, another inch would be great, but they fit very well. Took the spongyness out of my brake pedal on my notoriously soft GM truck brakes. I would recommend these
