Easy to apply and looks good. I used this on my hunting boots and so far it has done a great job. It will however darken leather. I had a pair of cowboy boots and I really hated the light brown color. I even tried using black shoe polish on them to darken them. When I heated the boots with a hair dryer and applied the snow shield they darkened to a beautiful cooper brown.Great! Also works well on rifle shoulder slings and leather holsters. I don’t know how long it last before needing another coat but so far so good!

Love that it just melts into the leather. My only comment might be that it comes in such a small jar. So, I’m not sure its a good value.

My shoes started out a darker tan, but would get dark water spots and soak up water in the rain, or even dewy grass. This product changed the color of the leather permanently to the brown the used to be when wet, but now they are waterproof. I rubbed it in and let them dry for a few days before I wore them, but they got a cracked look after I wore them. I had to go back and kind of buff them again and that seems to have fixed that issue. They look fine now, other than being darker.

I bought this product to protect my new dress boots. I was very pleased with the water droplets beading of my new leather boots. The snow shield did temporarily darken the boots slightly but after a night of drying all is well. I would recommend snow shield.

I’m trying this on a couple duster coats. So far it goes on easier than the stuff they sell especially for that, also cheaper. Doing this on a black card table in direct sunlight. 85 degrees. I’m applying it by hand, so yeah the coats were hot and this stuff melted into the fabric I only did one side and it soaked in really well. I might have gone overboard. It will probably stain what I wear under until it’s used. But it’s fishing and camping coats. You will need at least one jar for a XL full length duster. So fat I think it’s going to work just fine for me.

Works great. jar is not small. you can probably do 5-6 pairs of boots/shoes with one tub.
i did a pair of shoes with several coats. i can pour water on it and it runs right off.
I didn’t even take off the laces. i just worked around them.
i would suggest rubbing a few coats in and then hitting it with a hair dryer and letting it sit for a day.

This is the classic wax treatment for work and hiking boots that will be worn in the snow. The stuff works like no other. The old trick is to apply it to the leather then set the boots in a warm (not hot!) oven so it will melt and sink in deeply where it won’t wear off.
Works absolutely great for waterproofing. If you are hoping to keep your leather breathable, this is not what you want–its a water tight seal. I’ve used it on work and hiking boots that are worn in the snow for 50 years. It’s still the best there is for that purpose.

As the name is so similar and the packaging color similar, I bought this thinking it was sno seal. This does not waterproof anywhere close to sno seal, however sno seal has a very strong chemical scent and if that bothers you than I’d recommend this because it doesn’t have the scent. I could care less if it smells like turpentine. I want to waterproof my leather and this doesn’t do it.
