Used this to replace carburetor in an old Craftsman Briggs & Stratton 5 HP chipper. It did bolt on fine, but there are some significant differences to the old one:
1. The choke post orientation and tension spring are in different positions (3:00 on the old one vs 12:00 on the new one as viewed from top). I had to use my original choke post and drop the idea of it utilizing the tension spring. Fortunately the choke lever arm was enough friction to keep it in place when running.
2. My original carburetor bowl vent is on the top. This one is on the intake face. Putting the air filter face plate on blocked the vent, so I had to drill a hole in it to make a clearing for the vent. Refer to pics. If you find gas flooding out of the carburetor, this may be the reason.
3. The fuel intake connection sticks out quite a bit. Had to take a hammer to the heat shield to make room.
4. The throttle idle orientation differed quite a bit, causing the throttle linkage to stick. I had to adjust the idle screw to increase minimum idle speed and get the minimum throttle position further clockwise to get the linkage reliable.
The included fuel hose kinks easily. I had to put a spring around the bend by the fuel intake valve.
Once all the hacks were done, it does run well.

This is a perfect fit for an older 8hp 205cc Briggs and Stratton engine! The added fuel shutoff and filter is also very nice!
The quality of the carb is very good, as it the quality of the air filter and pre filter!

This is one the first clone carbs than ran smooth straight out of the box. easy install came with everything that is needed to replace old carb great kit I recommend this kit.

Before ordering, I confirmed compatibility using my original carb and model of roto tiller. After reading reviews of issues I was skeptical. The choke needed installation, shouldn’t be an issue with anyone that has gotten to this point in disassembly/repair. Bolted up as it should. Gave the thing a pull. Started right up 1st pull. It ran as good as new and I did all my tilling without an issue.
