This was my first time using cleaning putty, so I have nothing to compare it with. Overall, I was very pleased with how well it picked up dirt and debris, especially in the nooks and cranny that are hard to clean.
It’s not magic or 100% going to get everything. It will pick up loose debris and some lightly stuck debris. But it won’t remain stains or hardened on debris that requires something to knock it loose. If something doesn’t get picked up, try knocking it loose with something else then going back over it with the putty.
WARNING! If you plan to use on keyboards or electronics, there are sometimes smalls amounts of moisture left behind. It’s best to turn off the electronics and give them time to dry. Whatever moisture was left behind quickly evaporated. 99% of the time there was no moisture, but every once in a while I would see just a tiny amount. In most situations this would not be a problem, but be aware there is a possibility.
Small amount goes a long ways. I wasn’t sure how much to use, so I started with a small piece that was maybe 2/3 the size of a ping pong ball. It cleaned my cupholders in my car, some vents, a lot of nooks and crannies around my dashboard, a center console tray, the buttons on the lower side of my dash, the speaker grill on the top of my dash, those tiny holes in my leather car seats and seams, some hard to reach areas on my steering wheel, the center console media panel, then my buttons on my doors, and finally I cleaned the plastic bottom threshold of my door and the long grooves in my rubber floor mats.
How does it compare to a cleaning cloth of dust static wipe? I can clean a larger area faster with a cleaning cloth or one of those dust static wipes. But wipes and cloths don’t always get into the nooks, holes, and pores of material. Sometimes wipes push debris further into the cracks. That’s where the cleaning putty works better. You can push it into those nooks, cracks, and holes where it can cling to and pull out the dust and debris. The clean putty is more effective when pushed on & pulled off, and less effective trying to roll or swipe (swipe not advised). Because the putty requires more pushing on and pulling it off, it takes more time and works better in smaller areas. It’s a great compliment to a cleaning cloth, but not necessarily a replacement if you need to clean an entire dashboard or large area.
I highly recommend the FiveJoy cleaning gel.

Wish it cleaned up a little better for extended use but does what it claims. Inexpensive but must be replaced frequently if using often.

I’ve always wanted to try car cleaning putty (in my head, I just say dust jello) but I didn’t want to risk messing anything up by creating my own using a slime recipe – so I took to Amazon to find a putty especially for cars. And here enteres FiveJoy. Overall, it’s a decent putty. It’s reusable which I like. It is a weird formula and not exactly what I expected (but take that with a grain of salt because this is my first time ever using dust jello). But it was weird because you have to knead it pretty well before using it each time to basically firm it up and it stills is leaves like a moisture behind. So, i haven’t used it on any of my tech at the moment because of that. But overall, it works pretty well for getting into those tight spaces or spaces with a lot of openings where you would normally have to dust each individual crevice(vents, cup holders, speakers). It’s not quickest method for cleaning and it’s definitely not for large spaces, but it does a decent job.

This product worked wonderfully in my minivan! I am a mother to three little kids, and there are crumbs and dirt everywhere! It really helped me get into those nooks and crannies in the car as well as all the gross stuff that accumulates under the car seat pads. I would definitely recommend this product.

I had 2 cup holders in my truck that had become a mess over the last 3 years. These cup holders can’t be removed. Tried the vacuum with no luck. So I tried this product. Amazingly it cleaned them to like new condition in a few seconds. After that success, I tried other small compartments. Not as good because the gooey glob would pull apart and leave small pieces of goo in the compartment. I’ll have to work with it some more.
