I used this product to repair one of my totally worn engine torque mounts. After reading several car forums who have done it, I thought it’d be easy enough and far less expensive than purchasing a new mount. After roughly 5 months of use, its held up very well and remains very stiff. It was easy to use with a caulking gun and easier to clean off than some have said. I only used soap & water immediately after use and any residue came right off.
For those who use this on motor mount repair, keep in mind that filling the entire mount will cause alot of vibration felt in the car due to its harsh stiffness but it will soften up a bit after a month or so. For those who want a more factory smooth feel, just drill 3 holes into it equally spaced out and that should do it. Make sure to let it cure for 3-4 days for full hardness.
All in all, another great product by 3M. Best of all, it saved me roughly $80 from buying a new mount. FYI, the entire process took me all of 30 minutes or so including prep & clean-up time and that’s considering I’m a bit meticulous about prep.

Good for sealing around windsheild edges

Tube was cocked. I ended up able to get 1/3 of the tube to dispense normally. I cut the tube and scooped it out. This stuff gets EVERYWHERE this way.

Did this on a 2013 Mustang Convertible where 75% of the glass had delaminated from the outside portion of the glass.: The entire top portion and the sides. (The glass is also glued on the inside.) Open the top a bit to release the tension and have the glass rest on some boxes under the glass and some cardboard on the rear headrests.
I did not use the primer, but cleaned the glass with glass cleaner and then with 91% Isopropyl alcohol. Used painters tape to protect the edges of the top from getting the adhesive on it. Ran a 3/16-1/4″ bead and then pressed the top on until the parts were set flat together. Don’t worry about adhesive splashing out, it will come off the glass relatively easily after 3-4 hours of setting. Use a razor to separate it near the joint with the convertible top.
I used convertible top clamps to hold everything together for a few hours before removing them and moving on to the next part.
Look up the data sheet from 3M to check out curing times. The temperature and humidity make a huge difference. (Higher temperature and higher humidity can dramatically speed up curing times.)

Super fast is a understatement here. Urethane has been used in all vehicles since 1991 on windshield’s to hold them securely in place, as passenger side air bags deploy off of the windshield. If you have droughts about doing this own your own, stop and call a professional installer. If the installer tells you 30 minutes, say good bye and go to the next one. This urethane has a maximum wait time of three hours before it can be driven away, this has to do with the passenger side air bag, in case you are in a accident. This urethane fully cures in 72 hours. Avoid the car washes and heavy rains for the first 24 hours. If it must be out side in the rain, yes no one can control the weather and not everyone has a garage, use 3M fast release blue tape, from wherever to seal the top and sides of the windshield for 24 hours to stop penetration of as much rain as possible. The urethane will not dry properly if excessively wet. After the rain, and if safe to do so. Use a hairdryer on high heat inside the vehicle, around the dash and side pillars and headliner, on the glass, to speed up water evaporation. You will get no effect from outside using a hair dryer. Never use a heat gun, you risk cracking the glass and melting the plastic trim.
Once you have the 3M 08681 primer on both the the glass surface and the pinch weld, and after waiting 5 to 15 minutes to allow the primer to set you are ready to add the urethane.
It is best to cut the tip to give you a bead width of 5/16 of an inch and cut it pyramid shape giving you a depth of at least 9/16 to 5/8 of an inch tall. The pyramid has long been an industry standard as it allows you to get more urethane on a straight line, reducing the chances of it squeezing out when you install the glass. A power chalking gun is preferred for laying down the urethane, but not needed. If you use a hand pump chalking gun, you will need a good grip as this stuff does not want to leave the tube say. You will be changing hands every two feet you push out. Yes it is that tough to get out.
You need to have on throw away gloves and a shirt and pants you do not care about. Anything this urethane gets on it is never coming off. Period. That includes flesh.
Once you install the windshield or glass you are installing, you have approximately 15 seconds for any minor, massaging, adjustments the glass needs for perfect alignment. This was my first time using this urethane. As i said super fast is a understatement, it is almost instant adhesion.
I can not recommend this product for a first time user. I would recommend the slower setting urethane’s that 3M offers for a first time or DIY install.

Works well, no water leaks. Takes some time to fully cure so held glass with tape for 12 hours

I’ve repaired three rear convertible windows now with Windo-Weld. One repair is now 4 years old. No leaks and it holds very well. It sure beats replacing the top! Be sure and get some window suction cup clamps and you’ll be really happy with the results. I’d also recommend a good razor blade (not the type with a pointed tip but the kind used for shaving a beard with only one sharp side. That will help easily remove any access. Good luck with your project. Repairing your rear window with this is easier than you may think.

I fixed my bushing, my flip flops, my outdoor shoes…. Actually, you don’t have to use the whole can in one day. After a months, in the can it’s still the same, so you can continue using it
