At time of this review Feb. 2020, There were errors in the Amazon product instructions . The application procedure is incorrect, along with the suggested wait time before rinsing it off . Also, There is wrong info. pertaining to Top coating with paint and the temperatures that are required when using !!
These errors should be corrected on the listing soon .

I bought a rust-bucket old truck at Christmas time and it needs a LOT of work. I used this to treat all of the rusted areas in hopes of mitigating the damage until spring arrives. In hard to reach areas I was able to use a simple spray cleaner bottle with an adjustable nozzle, and even a lawn sprayer. But you MUST use a respirator if spraying this stuff!
Of course you should wear eye protection and rubber gloves regardless of application method. And remember it’s flammable! Those areas where I left it on a bit too long turned almost white but that’s normal with all of these types products and everything will have to be stripped before beginning any repairs anyway.

I applied it like it says and steal brushed it and washed it down then repainted it. It came out perfect with no more rust.

After reading reviews for this product I was hesitant about it. Tried using a new 1 quart spray bottle on small area under my jeep Rubicon and was very surprised how easy to transform the undercarriage steel. Very easy to use. With gloves on I’m waiting for the weather to break so I can finish this project. Thanx for great Service, Shipping

I used this product exactly as the instructions said, left it on overnight, but when I washed it off, instead of the advertized black finish, it looked exactly the same – rusty!
I’ve done it four times now, heavy applications, & it finally has turned black. I’ll leave it unpainted over the winter to see if rust re-develops

I had rusty foot plates on my Jeep running boards. Most of the assembly was powder coated but the foot plates were just painted. After 3 years they were more rust than paint. I removed the loose paint with a putty knife and a wire brush and applied two coats of this product. After 24 hours of drying they were ready to paint. I painted the sealed surface with black matte paint and they look great. All indications are that it will be at least several years before I have to do this again.

I used it to prep a truck frame and an RV frame for paint. Rust turns to black iron phosphate.

First off this bottle came leaking and leaked in my house. And trust me I have tried a few converters and this is not that. This is a watery brown liquid. Not milky. I tried this on a few things that were rusted. It did not convert any rust but it did leave behind some less than desirable results. Does not leave anything black and I definitely would not paint over it. If you have used it be sure to wash or clean your surfaces before paint.

I use this for truck underside prep work. The product does a good job as it describes. Some spots still required some elbow grease but that’s to be expected. I recommend for light rust conversion before appropriate steps for finishing.
